I had done two "self-taught" mosaics before, but when I saw a sample of what could be done with mosaics I wanted to take a class in how to do this modern style. I had never seen this style of mosaic done anywhere before. I called and scheduled a five day class with Michele. She listened to what I had in mind, gave me some suggestions before the class was to begin and I was to get back to her before finalizing my portrait's image. She scheduled the class around my scheduling requirements. Once I had my final image that I wished to reproduce in mosaics, we met for the five days. What a wonderful experience! I chose stained glass to work with. Michele gave me such good tips in working with it and how not to have to use grout to fill in areas. It was very time consuming and I had my mistakes, but Michele was right there with fresh ideas and encouragement. When I had finished it, it was wonderful. I had this mountain lion staring back at me with a hunger that followed me around the room. I have to say, it was one of the best classes I have ever taken in my life.
