SCAM Alert! I needed an electrician as my normal electrical company was booked and the work was time sensitive. To move an outlet 2' and move a fan outlet 4' was $1800! I was so shocked I had to ask the price a second time. The electrician then called his boss to "see what he could do". The price was then $900.00. DO NOT USE this company. Call Total Comfort and ask for their electrical department. They won't rip you off and will charge a fair price. I have decided to put off my work until my normal electrician (Total Comfort) is available. For the "Wheeling and dealing" I was charged a $90.00 trip fee.

I spoke with customer service at Mr. Sparks, told her that I needed a breaker switch replaced. She said that there was a $59 trip charge but if they did the repair work, I would not have to pay that fee. Repairman came out and I showed him the breaker, he said that it was bad and needed to be replaced. He said that they would have to do a basic diagnostic at a cost of $340 and he would not do the repair work unless I paid for that. I asked how much to replace the breaker and he said another $280. I told him that they did not tell me on the phone about requiring a $340 diagnostic charge before they begin the work, I would never have agreed to that. I paid their $59 trip charge and called another repairman. The new company confirmed that the breaker switch was bad, they replaced it and charged me $127. Not the $620 total Mr. Sparkys wanted me to pay.

Free estimate but when they come to your house need to do an analysis which cost $389. Would not give a estimate without analysis! Very misleading. I told him to leave after some unwanted discussions.

First and Second, visit showed up hour late. Went into the attic. Looked around. Then proceeded to tell me all the reasons my whole electrical wiring was bad. Trying to sell multiple ways to sell me on products and repair work. Got a second and third oppinion. Both said didn't need to be replaced. Also, they are clever in the way they quote prices. Sixty dollars for driving fee. Then the charges us $300.00. Thought it was to fix the problem. Didn't know this until they had to come BACK to fix it again. Never, did fix the problem. Out $360.00. For a job that was NEVER fixed correctly! BUYER BEWARE!!!

I scheduled an appointment a week ahead of time. I took off work to wait at home for this company 4 hour window 8-12. They call me at 9:45 to inform me that they have to reschedule because the technician is tied up on another call from last night. Question why didn’t you call me last night? I’m a nurse RN and there’s a lot of sick people who could’ve benefited from me being at work then sitting home waiting on some second class A/C company! Never again some people time is actually valuable!!!!

Receptionist said the fee would be $29 and then the tech called on his way to the job and said it would be an additional $295 for the evaluation plus the job cost. VERY BAIT AND SWITCH!!! Buyer beware.

A representative from Mister Sparky came to give me a quote for purchasing and installing a home generator. He looked at the electric panels and then called me to come out. He said," I'm sorry to have to tell you this." Then he took me to the electric disconnect panel on the side of the house. He pointed to an area on the panel that was discolored. Then he sai, "you see this, this a burnt mark. That's not a good sign. You have to replace the panel as soon as possible because this is an immediate fire hazard." Having just become a single Mom, I asked to please be completely honest as I didn't have any extra funds nor did I have time for dishonesty and schams. He assured me that he was being honest and he rattled off their BBB ratings and license, etc. being in a panic mode I asked him how much they'd charge to replace the panel. He took out his tablet and did some numbers and then said, "I'm sorry it won't be cheap." I said, "how much." He said, "$4,000". I told to email me the quote. I was in a state of shock so I called another electrician to come and take a look. He came and looked at the panel and he said what I was told to be a burnt mark is actually simply oxidation from the Florida humidity. There ere no melted/bubbled wire sheathing to indicate any burning. Everything looked clean and in good shape. He also told me that even if the panel needs to be replaced it should not cost any more than $1,400 in total. I must say what Mister Sparks's representative did was a scare tactic aimed an single women --to scare them into spending a lot of money they don't have. So shameful and so very sad. By the way Mister Sparky recommended that I go with a portable generator-- price tag: $9,000 Be ware !

Mind you, I used this company for a big job in 2018 so thought I'd do so again in 2020. Not the same quality by a long stretch. The tech, a really nice old school guy who won my confidence and with whom I looked forward to doing the work. In fact, he offered to install two dimmers while there for the estimate and I agreed. After he left though, I never received the estimate. When I checked up, the estimate I received was so far afield from what the tech and I discussed not just the price point for the electric panel part of the job but the various smaller parts of the job are now shown through some vague, non-specific portal that does not align as itemized jobs so you can't hold them accountable and you can't immediately know what you're paying for. It's so inferior to what they did in 2018. Some upgrades are really smoke and mirrors. Here's what they ABSOLUTELY FAILED TO PROVIDE in 2020 that they used to provide in 2018: "Get detailed bids on the price of parts and labor for each project in your home. Additionally, make sure all expectations are in writing and that you completely understand the terms and conditions of the work to be done. Talk to your contractor about what happens if you aren't satisfied with the work or if unforeseen circumstances cause changes in the bid. See what kinds of warranties are offered and make sure you understand what is included in the price of the estimate."

On Nov. 15th 2019 I had an electrician from Mr. Sparky come out to give me an estimate. I needed to find why all my power inside of my garage was out. Plus, the installation of a basic ceiling fan. They sent technician Joseph Abedini over. I explained to Mr. Abedini what I wanted done. Before, he gives me an estimate, Joe asks to see my electric breaker panels. I showed him the outside one first. He examines the panel; "oh, you've got a serious situation here. Its burned up, this panel needs to be replaced ASAP, you have a fire hazard here". I don't say anything, but I am in shock. He then asks to see the other panel (main panel) That is inside the house. I take him inside and show him the other panel I get the same response as the outside. He tells me; "this panel is just as bad as the other one, it needs to be replaced, you've got serious fire hazards here". He asks me, "don't you see it, its fried" I'm looking carefully. I told him, "I don't see any issues" At that time I ask Joe, can I just get an estimate for the reason you came down here. It's close for 500 dollars, but I am sure by time he's done it'll be over 600. I told Joe, thanks for coming over and please leave. For 2 days I didn't sleep, I had another technician come over. He is a master electrician been doing this over 30 years. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with your electric panels, they are in great shape, whoever did the wiring did an excellent job" He then did the job, I got estimated for by MR. SPARKY. He did it for 2 hundred dollars less than MR. SPARKY's estimate. BTW, I had another electrician come out, (just to look at panels). He says; "nothing wrong with the panels you have" So is this guy Joe a crook or does Mr. Sparky tell their employees to drum up "any" business, or is Joseph, just a terrible electrician? STEER AWAY FROM HERE
