Twice during my time with Massey they let my yard go to weeds.  The first, I literally had the massive "side of the road" weeds growing in my yard, and large sections of my yard dead.  After my multiple complaints, they said that it was because they didn't know that was part of my yard, and hadn't been treating it.  Really?
Then, it went well for a while. They re-sodded my yard, and maintained it.  Then, I started getting the crabgrass.  Of course, it's never their fault.  I cut it too low.  I showed them my mower.  Oh, I watered too little.  I showed them my sprinkler system, now I watered too much (true, they said both on the same visit).  
After multiple complaints, I stopped paying the bill.  That got them to respond.  I told them that they had not performed their portion of the contract, and accordingly, I didn't owe them.  They came out and re-sodded part of the yard, but not all of it.  They didn't see the other large dead areas, apparently.  But, I paid my bill and cancelled all services.  
Or so I thought.  They continued to bill me for pest control.  I called them and told them that I had cancelled.  The answer I got?  "You cancelled lawn.  You didn't cancel pest.  We're a different office".  I informed her that I fired Massey services, and if they don't talk to each other, that's not my problem.  I told her that if they performed a pest service, they did it for free, because I had no service agreement with them.  They finally stopped calling me on it.  
My yard never looked good with Massey, except for the month after they re-sodded it.

Massey told us they would take care of the cinch bugs and re-sod the affected areas. After 2 months, it was discovered that they had "forgotten" to do the sodding. After this discovery, they did get the sod down and it slowly took. Then, they were to give us an estimate for re-sodding the back yard. After 3 months of calling and leaving messages, no one would call me back and no work had been started; so we canceled them.

To their credit, Massey showed up to perform an inspection and estimate the same day that I called them.  That was almost the only thing they did well.  I found their prices for lawn fertilization and pest control to be fair and competitive.  Not so for their irrigation system maintenance.  After I wrote them a check, it was a struggle to get them to call or show up.  I ended up having to call their general manager a few times in order to get the service I paid for. 

Ultimately, I am satisfied with their lawn pest control program.  I have had problems with fire ants in my yard for years, but not since I hired Massey.  Their fertilization and weed control treatments are rather unimpressive to date; my lawn was much more lush when I used Heron.  I immediately cancelled their irrigation system maintenance after being drastically over-charged and under-serviced.

A few days later, Axtel came to begin the treatment. He was very thorough and after treating the outside and neighboring bushes (including special attention to probable entry points), he came inside the house . In the rooms adjacent to the place where we had the most problem, he removed all the switch plates and put dust behind the walls. He spent a great deal of time on the whole treatment. Within 2 days, the entire problem vanished. It was amazing! A few weeks later (as he had cautioned us), we began to see some activity. We called Axtel and he spotted the affected areas. Since then we have had almost no sign of carpenter ants. I highly recommend this particular office of Massey as very professional, knowledgeable and fair.

They are owned by different people now and they have a different name now. They did indoor and outdoor pest control, lawn pest control and termite coverage. We had some issues, but they addressed them. Their motto was ‘you call we jump’. So if there was a problem, I would call and they would have somebody come out. One thing that I was not impressed with them was that they were unable to control the weeds in the lawn. There was no problem for indoor pest control. Their pricing was too high for a small house and a small yard, so I wouldn't use them.

Middleton was great, unfortunately they've been bought out by Massey Services. My issues with Massey: 1. Middleton was checking the lawn for fleas with every quarterly service. Massey did not, so we didn't realize we had fleas until the yard was overrun and infected the dog (who brought them into the house). 2. When the fleas got into the house, they did honor the contract to provide maintenance pest control for free. However, they have switched chemicals. This means that they do the same crappy baseboard sweep that the cheaper companies do. It also means that you have to leave the pest control person alone in your house for 2-4 hours while they treat the house, a fact that they neglected to mention. So we had to clear out of our own house for hours with no notice on the one day we had off together to do housework. 3. When I told them I didn't want to renew my contract, I got a phone call each day from the manager for about 6 weeks, to 'talk about what it was I was unhappy with" when I had already made clear multiple times it was because I don't like the new chemicals. They even went so far as to do our first yard service on the new contract. I paid for that service, cancelled in writing, and asked them never to call me again back in August. Got a call about a week ago from them to "talk about what I was unhappy with" again. Asked him to never call me again, we'll see if it sticks this time.

This company does an excellent job. I had dead spots in my lawn. They came out and diagnosed the situation and fixed the dead spots. I now have a very lush green lawn. I had an issue to which the technician came out and assessed the situation. Then her manager came out and diagnosed and told my what to do to solve the problem. It worked and I was very happy with them helping me.

In the beginning there was a bit of miscommunication but since we straightened that out it s been alright. Nothing comes into the house. They re always convenient and they do a fantastic job.

The previous company had been sold to Middleton and they started coming around at odd times without calling me in advance. I like to know ahead of time when someone is going to come so that I can help them do the job right. If I m not here how can I be sure?! Needless to say I changed services.

They used to come every 4 months but now they only come once a year. I believe it s to save money. They have been doing less work than they used to but are still effective as far as I know. They always come when they say they will, he even calls when he s coming to make sure I m home. They have a very nice secretary. They answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. The price is good for me, but I haven t looked for any other options. Everything was done promptly.

They are expensive but they do good work. Sometimes they were a little late, not real bad though. The grass didn t respond that well to the pest control, they needed to repeat application to take care of things. Inside it was good. I would hire them again for pest control but not for yard control.

Excellent. At our request, Middleton sent their sales rep (LJ) to our residence. His presentation was quick and professional. I had a coupon from Angie's List on the table and LJ noted the discount without asking. Further, LJ offered that, since Middleton did our neighborhood service, there was an additional (significant) discount. I knew in advance about the discount, but wanted to 'test' the company. I was impressed with LJ's honesty and forthrightness. At our request, initial treatments were postponed until early June and both technicians (Victor and Tom) arrived as scheduled. Service was prompt, thorough, friendly, and communicative. Victor and Tom took great care with their work and were able to answer any questions in great detail. One thing we have noted in observing Middleton personnel on property: consistency. We see the same faces often. I have spoken to Middleton technicians on several occasions and have never heard one bad-mouth the company.

The sales rep arrived on time but the technician was late, they did call though and he was very apologetic. They were both very professional and answered my questions thoroughly. Both were careful not to track dirt into the house. I have seen one bug since the treatment.

After paying them $424/year for the past couple of years, we have one of the worst looking lawns in the neighborhood. I called to cancel and was told I must cancel in writing- I could not cancel over the phone- which I have done. Seems to me to be a ploy to cut down on the number of people canceling their service.

L.J., the service consultant, was on time and explained things well. The technicians came when promised and were knowledgeable and professional. We had seen a few insects inside since moving into this home a few months ago. The seller had used Middleton and was happy with their service. The seller had not purchased a termite protection. We selected Middleton because the other companies warranties did not come anywhere near Middletons. Also, other Angies List reports were favorable. The special at the time included the first year of pest control free if we took the termite protection. Pardon the pun, but this did take some of the sting out of the price.

We just bought the home a year ago & were not aware of annual fees. When we realized a fee was due 8 months ago we promptly tried to re-instate our contract. At first Middleton wanted us to get a new contract (much more expensive than the annual fee). Finally they agreed to continue the warranty contract once they understood our confusion. We paid the fees, & they conducted the annual inspection & 5 year booster service. They arrived at our home as scheduled, & were courteous, thorough, & professional.

I'VE BEEN WITH THEM FOR AS LONG AS I'VE BEEN IN FLORIDA. I DON'T LIKE BUGS AND BECAUSE I USE THEM I'VE NEVER HAD ANY. I HAD 2 COCKROACHES IN MY FIRST RENTAL HOUSE, AND I CALLED MIDDLETON. THEY GOT RID OF THEM, AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY SINCE.

THEY WERE VERY THOROUGH. THEY DID EVERYTHING THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE DONE. WHEN I SEE AN INSECT IN MY HOME ALL I HAVE TO DO IS CALL, AND THEY COME RIGHT AWAY. THEIR PRICING WAS GOOD, BUT ITS NOT TERRIFIC.
