After having several months of $200 water bills, I called Leak Doctor to find my leak. When I called, the staff was very friendly and helpful and I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. They were very upfront about the cost of the diagnosis ($400)and repair and I was prepared for the cost based on other reviews.
The technician was very prompt and friendly. He found the leak and noted that there were none others outside the house. The repair did take a while but was completed.
I highly recommend them as they have the lastest and greatest equipment to diagnose and fix water leaks.
Found source of leaks we hope. We are in the process of having the leaks repaired.
As mentioned earlier, it took him 30 minutes +- to find the leak and then he spent some additional time tracing the water line the leak was associated with. After getting my ok, he drilled down through the tile grout and slab to confirm his findings .. which were correct. He ensured he had correctly and accurately located the problem then marked it for the plumber. He even patched where he had drilled .. even though it is going to be torn up again (hopefully soon). I'm now waiting for the plumber to come fix the leak.
If I had it to do over again, I would have called Leak Dr. first. I say this because although we heard water running there was no sign of water in the house .. no wet spots or signs of water on the baseboards. We apparently had a slab or some other hidden leak that most plumbers are not equipped to find. I lost a day and a trip charge fee by going to the plumber first .
I'm not complaining about plumbers or trip charges. I understand that driving a fully equipped truck to a customer's home is a cost of doing business. I also understand that any time a plumber spends driving to my home is time he isn't spending with other paying jobs. I'm ok with paying someone for the entire time they spend working on my situation. I'm just saying that knowing what I know now, hiring someone trained and equipped to locate a hidden leak is the logical first step.
I'll review the plumber (who is also on Angies List) after the work is complete.
Technician knew what he was doing, and found the leak quickly.
Recommended course of action to remedy leak.
