This contractor did not ensure that the work was done properly and workers were left with no supervision. He lacks respect and service for the client Lake Nona Contractors were hired to paint the exterior of my house. The owner, Reuben, allowed his crew to come to my home and "pressure wash" without any supervision or guidance. The crew did not introduce themselves and spent less than 45 minutes pressuring washing a 2 story home that is about 3000 sq ft. His crew than lied to me telling me that they had pressure washed the home and were waiting for paint. I later found out that they needed more gas to continue pressure washing. The crew of about 6 men took a 2 hr break on my drive way and did not like me questioning the work. In fact, I have photos and security video showing the workers eating and talking on my driveway. When they finished eating, they decided to use the bushes in my front lawn as their trash can. Finally 4 hours later, Rueben showed up and instructed his crew to start painting before all the pressure washing was done and the color match of paint was confirmed. The paint was not even a close match and I asked him why he would started painting the house without confirming everything with the home owner. At that time, I asked them to leave so we can have a pre-walk through prior to any work or paint being done to ensure all parties were on the same page. During the walk through, Rueben insisted that he would do a good job and promised to have supervision during the "re-do" of the work promised. He was scheduled to come and once again no supervision was there when the crew arrived. He blamed traffic however this excuse could have been avoided if he properly planned. He lacks all respect and customer for his client. His crew did a quick job and lacked attention and care for detail. When the job was completed, his crew just left without a walk through. As my husband and I walked through the home, we noticed paint dripping, paint bubbling, uneven corners, and other careless work. The crew was then told to return and they rushed all touch ups as they were upset that had to return to the job. Rueben refused to come back to the home for a walk through; however, wanted to make sure he would be paid. Never once did he come to check on his crew or the work being done as he promised. He also told me his father would be supervising the job if he could not make it to the site and never once did his father come to the job. He enjoys the check and the money but does not give any service. His crew will do the least amount of work to make sure that they are done within the 2 day period of what Rueben had budgeted as a timeline. With these time restrictions, the crew does what has to be done quickly with cutting corners to ensure that they are finished in the timeframe that Rueben has bestowed upon them. Rueben charges a premium for a poor to mediocre job. The fact that he refused to come back to the home to ensure that we were happy or that all painting was done to what he called "high quality" shows that he does not care about the job or the client. In fact, he said we will never be happy prior to starting the job. The fact is when the job is visibly bad and another contractor(the stucco contractor) has to pick up the slack for his company, its not a matter of us being happy but more a matter of us getting what we are paying for. He is only worried about being paid and now my husband has to fix the issues his company left. This negates the reason we hired someone to paint the home. If we wanted to have these issues, we would have done it ourselves. Rueben also did not take care in meeting with us before he bought the first batch of paint. Instead he cried over spilled milk, that he is out money for buying miss matched paint. This could have all been avoided once again if he had taken pride in showing up to meet with his client prior to sending crews out to do the job without any direction. Customers beware of this company. They will rush the work, not come back to ensure accurate work and only collect the money regardless of the quality of work.

After weeks of unreturned calls, we finally convinced him to come by and finished the work he started. He installed our hardwoods and asked him to save our baseboards so we can reinstall them. He broke most of them in half and damaged the rest, so we could not use them. We had to buy new ones and get them repainted, and he said that he would install them for free once we got them. It took a few months to get the right ones and paint them. We told him it was done and it took weeks to get ahold of him. Also, we told him that the hardwoods he installed were buckling and the trim between the transition areas was coming up. He said he would fix it, but it was our expense to buy the trim to fix it. He fixed the trim, but never fixed the buckling of the floors. We asked him what he was going to do, and he said that he would have to pull the floors up to fix it, and he is not willing to do that. As far as the baseboards and chair rail, there were very big gaps and damage from carelessness during install. I have had to do a lot of caulking to fill gaps and still not close to done. Also, the concrete patio we had him install cost us another $2000 to have fixed by professionals. He used a 2 bag mixer for a big project. It was not level and puddled in the middle and we had mold and mildew on the patio. He takes the cheapest route, yet charges higher prices and claims he does high quality work. He is consistently late and unprofessional. Stay away from them, it will cost you more in the long run to have it fixed.
Description of Work: Nelson did our concrete on our patio, installed our hardwoods and did our baseboards and chair rail.
