I am dealing with the aftereffects of a non-quality job, to say the least. Not too long after the cabinets were put in, the white paint started coming off. I now have to look at bare wood in some spots. The corners/edges, etc., are rough, as well. It's like they slapped on a thin coat of paint, which isn't equipped to handle a kitchen environment. The cabinets look terrible, and many, many years older than they actually are. I'm disgusted. I finally decided to call Larry Samuel, the owner, and after a couple attempts, he did call me back and told me he'd be in touch. Well, he wasn't. So I eventually called him back and he again put me off. It's now been over a month and he's totally ignored me and just left me stuck with this mess. He is extremely unprofessional and is selling an inferior product. And to add insult to injury, he's ignored my pleas to at least try to make the cabinets a little more tolerable to look at, despite his "supposed" 5-year warranty. Even if he DID honor his promises and his "warranty", in order to have the cabinets done right, I would have to hire someone else to do it, anyway. So, saving a little money up front was not worth the lack of quality I was left with.

"what was not stated in her complain is that she had broken pipes in her house, flooded the kitchen, all the doors and hindges where rusted, we did repaint her doors at no charge, it was not covered, but we made her happy, it was not due to quality."

JC Cabinets had finished and installed the cabinets in my kitchen working with the previous owner a few years ago. When one of the kitchen cabinet doors was accidentally burned by a high-intensity halogen light installed too near the doors, I figured JC Cabinets would be the best people to refinish it to match the original. They took about a month to finish the work, and usually took several days to return my calls. Whenever the owner called back he always had an excuse (his wife had been sick, he had a death in the family, etc). When they finally said the door was open, they asked for payment in cash, and the confused guy in the shop tried to return the door without the hardware (handle, etc) which they had removed. When I got it back home, I was pleased that they had approximated the original color fairly well, but the finish was a very high gloss instead of the low-lustre satin finish of all the other cabinet doors. When I called to voice my concerns, the owner insisted that they had used a satin finish and it would lose its gloss over time. After two months, the new door-face is still a high gloss and sticks out like a sore thumb. I called again and asked the owner if he would look at the new door side-by-side with one of the originals. So I came in and showed both doors to their finisher, who didn't seem to even understand what I was talking about. He went on about how different samples of wood will take the stain differently and show a different color. When I reminded him I was talking about the gloss, he repeated the owner's line - "well, those are doors that are a couple years old.... and this is brand new" I'm no cabinet-maker, but I know that a very shiny high-gloss polyurethane finish will never dull so much that it will turn into a soft, satiny finish no matter how many years go by. I've finished wood myself with a satin polyurethane and it looks "satiny" right after it dries. So now I'm faced with either going somewhere else or fixing this myself. Don't use these jerks for anything unless you really like bad service and bull-crap.

"we did take a little time to repair your door, we had done your job long ago , did not have the stain in stock, we bought your stain finish you door, for actual cost ,I gallon of stain cost $60.00 plus labor , the finish was the same used on your first door ,sorry you feel we miss treated you"

Project went very well. They were slow finishing the project however, they did a very good job. Larry Samuels had great ideas.

ALTHOUGH IT TOOK AN EXTRA TWO WEEKS BEFORE THEY WERE FINISHED WITH THE CABINET, I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK. THE BATHROOM LOOKS REALLY GOOD. IT IS NOT THE BEST QUALITY IN THE DRAWER SECTION (AS THEY ARE A LITTLE WOBBLY) BUT IT SURE LOOKS GOOD.
