When we moved here last October we investigated a faster service and discovered that Hotwire have a monopoly but offered a 15mbps service for an $50/month. This is a quarter the speed of Verizon and a sixth the speed of Brighthouse at my previous property. However in pratcice the speed in the evening is often under 1.5mbps or stops altogether, making watching any form of online TV or video impossible. It even struggles with Google maps on occasions.
I have received a couple of partial credits as Hotwire have determined that the system is maxing out due to new properties being connected in the area. They have not invested in increasing capacity to cope with the new subscribers.
I have been told repeatedly that the capacity is being expanded, but nothing has happened- just words.
Hotwire seem happy to provide a third world service whilst taking their customers hard earned dollars.
