This is the second time that I have hired H & W and am so glad that I found an honest, reliable company to help me maintain my jalousie windows. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

They were on time, did the work quickly and cleaned up after themselves. I would hire these guys any day!

They showed up when scheduled and fixed the window. The whole repair was pretty quick. After getting a few quotes, I felt their pricing was very fair. I also had a hard time finding many companies that do window repair, without just replacing the whole window (for a lot more money). I was happy to find H & W could actually do window repairs and not just new installs.

I don't have a comparison price but I don't know if I could have gotten it done for less. I was happy with the price. He wasn't happy with one of them and he sent it back to get a new one before putting in.

I did a lot of research and came down to H & W Windows and another company located in Tampa as far as the quality of the windows and within a reasonable price. You can go with cheaper vendors for inferior products or more expensive vendors for extra stuff that you don't need unless you live in mansion and thousands of dollars is not that big of a deal to you. DO NOT go with the two big box stores as their prices where much higher for the same quality windows and they use subcontractors.
The Tampa company has a brand that is double hung which is nice and I almost went with them but decided if there was a problem, it'd be sometime before they can come out to Orlando to fix it. One review said exactly that. While they cover their workmanship, it took a month before they could make it back to Orlando for this customer. Also, you don't need a double hung window if you lived in a one story house. I like the idea of it initially but decided it's not worth the extra cost. Double hung makes sense for 2nd story so you can clean from the inside without putting a ladder on the outside. Also double hung windows have more parts to it which could mean more parts for failure so FYI.
I went with H & W because they are a third generation company and I like to support local family own businesses. Ethan was great and punctual to get me the estimate. To my surprise, Bill the owner along with another guy came out and installed my windows. The workmanship was good and they cleaned up as they go. I was extremely happy with the windows and the work done.
If you are a cheapskate like me and take a month to do research to find the best quality at the most affordable price, there are two things to look for: 1) the quality of the window AND 2) the workmanship.
If you have great windows but poor work installing them, then you have a leaking window with water coming in or wind blowing in when completely shut. I read quite a few complaints online about this with other companies. If you have poor windows but great work, then it's the same.
Last, H & W is a family run business so their front office may not be the most professionally run like your big companies. I'd say don't let this stop you from having them do the work, just be persistent and stick with them because replacing a window for the next 10-20 years is worth an extra phone call or two. This happened to me but I knew they were the only ones I can trust in Orlando. They are really nice people when you see them and know they won't take advantage of you. Hope this helps:)

My dog had broken the bottom pane of a window (dog did not get hurt) while jumping for a animal that ran across the yard. 2 representatives from H&W Windows visited me today with great customer service. They came inside to inspect the window and then worked the remaining time outside. The 2 reps were professional in every manner. Also noted: they accept cash, card, or check. Never got the impression that I was bothering them or my problem was too small. I had to wait 2 weeks, but it was worth the wait!

This is a family owned business, and they all were very nice and had good customer service skills.

From the initial call to the installation I had no issues, everything was explained to me properly.

If I ever need their service again, I will not hesitate to call them again!

I have used H and W Windows and Repairs twice now for screen repairs for my business. Both times, I took in window screens to their location. Counter service was immediate. On one occasion, I left a custom-sized screen which needed total replacement. As promised, I was able to pick up my new window screen within just a couple of days. The second visit, they were able to replace the screen while I waited.

Arrived on time and successfully dealt with a tricky problem of a Chattahoochee stone deck which obstructed lifting the door out of the track. Cost was less that I was quoted!
This company was recommended by another top notch window repair person who did not cover my area.
As perfect as home repairs get.
Worth waiting for an appointment since this family-owned business (in Orlando since the 1960's) is increasingly in demand.
