Services we offer
HVAC Repair & Replacement. Heat Pumps Replacement. Programmable Thermostats. Whole House Air Cleaners.
The technician, Sean, impressed me with his thoroughness and knowledge of heaters and AC units. He took the time to explain the issues he came across that needed attention so I would be aware of them in the future. Like previous Green’s techs, he was affable, and a pleasure to have in our home. He adjusted, cleaned and tweaked our system, even taking the time to clean the outside unit’s enclosure so that it looked like new. We have found that Green’s annual maintenance contracts are a great bargain with priority for service calls, 15% discount on parts and labor and having them remind us that service is due, something I would probably neglect to remember. Greens has always made us feel that we received more than our money’s worth on any jobs they have done here. We will continue to call on Greens due to their fair prices, excellent service and well trained staff.
Description of Work: Greens just performed our HVAC system annual maintenance.

We have them come out every six months to do our HVAC service and they do that very reliably and very well. They are very honest people and they don’t try to sell us at work. They don’t recommend things that don’t need to be done and I can rely on their recommendations when they make them. I called them when our air conditioning compressor went out and they did verify that there was a compressor problem. They had to order a unit which came relatively quick; I think it was just a day later. They replaced it and there was a lot of custom work that needed to be done to make it sit inside the unit but they put it in a much better way than it was originally put in. They added a little drying device which would keep the refrigerant from accumulating moisture. The guy who was doing the replacement explained every step to me and he showed me what he was doing. He showed me why it had to be done that way and he got it done very quickly. It took about 3 hours to do it and the unit worked perfectly. I thought the price was very reasonable and very fair and it did not exceed the estimate. I was very pleased with them. They were prompt and punctual and they did what they said they were going to do at the price they said it would take.
Description of Work: I used the services of Greens Energy Services Inc in August as our air conditioning compressor went out.

I spend about $200 a year with them. I had to maintain my air conditioner in Florida so my relationship is very important with my heating and air conditioning people because I use it all year long. I stumbled upon them and have used them for 10 years. They are good but they are only as good as their technicians and if I didn't get the same guy every time, there was always a learning curve. The price was fine.

When I call them they come here and provide the service. I spent about $120 on the last service they did and it wasn’t much. The job they did went excellent overall. I have had them here before and I think that they are punctual. I wrote them up before when I had an issue with the air-conditioning unit and they fixed it. They give me an estimate and are usually right on the estimate. Their people are very neat and they always put on protective covers while working in my house. They also took the time to explain to me about all the different areas that were fixed, so there were no surprises. They made it very clear to me what work was being done and they did it efficiently. When there was an issue and one technician could not figure something out he called someone else in immediately. Another person of their staff came out and was able to find the problem and took care of it, so I was very pleased with their work.
Description of Work: I use Greens Energy Inc. for heating and air-conditioning and they have just done regular maintenance and check-ups. The last time I used them was last month for a checkup and they tuned everything.

I called Greens by phone a year or so ago, and no one ever got back to me either. If you want people's business you have to follow-up with them. Don't call me after you read this report.

We received a courtesy call 30 minutes prior to their arrival. The driver showed up promptly at the scheduled appointment time. He was in in uniform. He asked if we wanted him to remove his shoes. Before beginning the job he surveyed our a/c system just to be sure of how he'd proceed. He took his time to install our equipment and ensure it was functioning correctly before he left. We had a $20.00 coupon from Angie's list which they accepted. The price was exactly as quoted over the phone days prior. I would definitely work with the company again in the future if needed.

THE $20 ANGIE'S LIST COUPON WAS WORTHLESS, BECAUSE OF THE FINE PRINT THAT IT ONLY APPLIES TO REPAIRS!!!!! WAS BUMMED ABOUT THAT and thought the company was a real jerk of a policy! It was the main reason i chose them over other good rated companies.
Description of Work: My air conditioner was not blowing cool air. They came out within hours and did just what was needed. Great technician. Turns out my outside unit is old and triped a breaker (kicked myself for not checking that first). So the inside heat pump was running but not the outside. He did a through pressure check on it and gave me the education I asked for (got most of my money's worth).

Between Saturday night and Sunday morning, our air conditioning unit was running but no cold air was coming out. I went on to Angie's List to find a reputable AC service provider and found Green's Energy. Since it was Sunday, I expected the service call was going to be expensive but found that a coupon was available on Angie's List for $20 off a service call. The service coordinator from Green's said the technician would not be available until 4pm that afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised when the technician showed up at 11:30am and fixed the problem in less than an hour. Very professional and courteous.

I called Greens on 7/14 at 11 AM re AC going out. Shannon came out by 2 PM and determined due to water overflow the motor had shorted out. He replaced the motor and got the AC working again. He asked if I had cleaned out the pipe, and I did say I had used my wet/dry vac the night before at the fill valve and outside. One week later on 7/20 after 11 PM I found water running down the length of my garage from the furnace, opened it, and found water leaking again. The motor was still working, and I used the wet/dry vac again. Called Greens the next morning, and Ernie came out within the hour. We determined thru miscommunication between Shannon and myself, Shannon had thought I cleared any blockages in the pipes. Ernie spent a good hour clearing out the blockage that existed in my pipes causing the water backup and made sure everything was in great working order. Ernie is EXTREMELY knowledgable, and I appreciated his insight. Gave me a great suggestion to put a half-cup of cheap vinegar in the fill valve each month which should keep the pipes clean of any future blockage. Ernie had me sign the work order for which there was no charge for the 2nd visit since he said the blockage should have been cleared on the 1st visit. Also of note: The initial work order I signed on 7/14 was for $468. When filing away the receipt a few days later, I found it had some math errors. I contacted Greens who agreed with me and credited $205 so my final total was $263! Issues can arise in any business but what determines customer satisfaction is how those issues are addressed/handled, and Greens is A++++++++++++ in that regard. Highly recommend.

The first young man (Tito) came out just to check things out. He did an excellent job. We have never had anyone spend so much time on a regular checkup. He was cleaning things and changed some fan speeds etc. He did much more than we expected, and the price $74.00...very reasonable. This was April 11, 2011. Our air went out late in the day on July 11, 2011. Our technician was Charlie. He arrived at 7:50 ( about 45 minutes after we had called). He was very personable and very capable in diagnosing the problem. We needed a new compressor contactor, which he replaced and we had air that evening. We still need a new fan control board...it is on order. The main thing is the house is cool!! The after hours call was $99.00, and the entire bill $299.00. We will use this company again, and I would recommend them to any friend with confidence.

I got them from your list. I liked their sales presentation. I liked everything about the company. I asked some friends of mine about them, because they had used them. They highly recommanded the company and that is why I decided to use them. I thought they were reasonable in price. They came in and did the job. They made a few mistakes but they came back and fixed those. They did my one-year maintenance last month. They took care of everything. I did not have any problem with them. I would use them again. I would recommand them. I decided to get energy efficient. Therefore, I got a completely new system. Everything is fine. There was an issue, when the weather got cold because they had not done something correctly, so the heat was not coming out. However, as soon as I called them, they sent somebody out and they fixed it right away. It is working ever since.

We got several companies to give us estimates, and the gentleman from Green's was reasonably punctual for his appointment. He did more actual climbing around and looking at things in the attic than any of the other companies' estimators did. He also took careful measurements of the room sizes and window sizes in order to calculate how best to configure the duct and grill sizes locations for even distribution of air. He was slower to get back to us with an estimate than others (slower than he said he'd be), and the price was not the lowest, but Green's had the best Angie's List rating of the ones who gave us an estimate, so we chose to go with them. We did have troubles on several occasions when we would ask a question, etc, and he would promise to get back to us with an answer. We usually had to call him back in a couple of days to remind him that we were waiting. I know that things were very hectic at that time for most HVAC contractors due to folks trying to finish up in time to get gov't rebates on HVAC units, but it was disconcerting to feel that we were being forgotten. However, since our work was not something which would involve a gov't rebate, we agreed to wait for our work to be done after the New Year and were given a discount for waiting. When the work finally got started (not the first week of January as we'd been led to believe) the guys managed to track oil from one spot on the garage floor all over the garage and into the house. My son was home and they told him they'd use a drop cloth to cover things while cutting holes in the ceilings, but he never saw them with a drop cloth, and my son wound up covering my computer with some old towels--AFTER it had been liberally sprinkled with drywall dust and insulation. In climbing into the attic, they broke the drywall attic access cover in the master bedroom, and did not mention to my son that they had done so. (The following day, they replaced it with a white-painted plywood cover--fine, but it would have been nice to know they were going to do that.) I got home before my wife and cleaned dust and insulation off of the computer desk, kitchen table, etc, and scrubbed up the oily footprints from the wood floors and the garage--all of which I wish the workers had done before they left. Second day, my wife stayed home from work to keep an eye on things. The salesman/estimator had told us that the workers would ask her where she would like the return grills placed in the ceiling. They didn't ask, but just started cutting. When she tried to tell them where she wanted the one in the living room, one of the guys told her that if they put it where she said, the air would flow backward, creating high pressure in the master bedroom. When she told him that was ridiculous, one of the other guys said, "She's right. She knows what she's talking about. Go ahead and put it where she wants it." The three bedrooms on the other end of the house were all to be connected to a single return grill in the hall, but the workers connected only two of them and told my wife that the third (and largest) bedroom couldn't be done, and we'd have to leave the bedroom door open (my father-in-law's room), or saw off the bottom of the door to let some air out. That was very disconcerting, as ALL of the companies (including Green's) had recommended against sawing off the bottom of doors as an efficient method of air return. The men insisted that there was no way to get above that room through the attic, and that there was no choice. That weekend, I climbed into the attic and down to that room, satisfied myself that I could get in above the ceiling, and went down and called the salesman/estimator, leaving him a message. It turned out that he had been at the house both days that they guys were working, and they had told him that it couldn't be done. He said he had taken their word for it--(although he had been up there and had assured me in advance that it would be fine). He hadn't told my wife while he was here, nor had he called to tell me about the "impossibility", even though it was clearly stated in the contract that all of the bedrooms would receive passive air return ducts. When I told him that I could fit into the space and that my wife said I was bigger than any of his three workers, he agreed to come back out and look again for himself. He came back and confirmed that it shouldn't have been a problem to get into the attic space and that even if they couldn't get above the ceiling there, they could have put a grill through the bedroom wall above the hall ceiling, connected to the same grill in the hall where the other two rooms connected. He agreed to have the men come back and install the new return grill and connect it with the others, and to have them stop up some air leaks in the main air return plenum (which the men were supposed to have fixed but had apparently forgotten). They came back later in the week and put the new grill in the "impossible" room's ceiling, and rebuilt the hall return box to fit the third flexible duct. They did not remember to patch the leaks in the plenum. I went ahead and called the salesman/estimator and told him to come get the payment check, and to please bring me a little bit of duct mastic and I'd patch the plenum myself. He came and brought the mastic, apologized for the guys missing that, then he patched the leaks and I wrote him a check. We did get the discount he'd promised us for waiting until after the first of the year, and another discount for paying by check as opposed to credit. The invoice was not as "neat" as he'd intended, so he promised to make us another, more legible copy and either send it to us or drop it by sometime when he was in the area. It's been over a month ago and we haven't seen that yet, but I'm not really missing it. Overall, nothing happened that made me angry. Nothing happened that made me ecstatic. The job, once it was completed, seems to have been done well, and it has achieved the desired effect of distributing hot or cold air more evenly throughout the house. The finished product is fine and I'm pleased we had it done. Just a little disappointed with the amount of hassle involved to get it that way, given Green's high marks on Angie's List.
Description of Work: Green's removed old, damaged ductwork from our attic and replaced it with new, resized flexible ducts to make the heating/cooling more efficient and more evenly distributed throughout the house. They also installed return ducts from the bedrooms to the common areas so that the bedroom doors would not need to be left open all the time for proper circulation, and moved the thermostat from an exterior wall to an interior one.

By now we have had a few cold days in which to check out the heating portion of the system. Everything seems to be functioning well. And, I really like the thermostat operation and controls. The system is fast and powerful?better still, our electric power bill is lower; at least for the A/C part. It?s too soon to tell about the heating part. Thanks Russell, Gary & Steve, Jim, and ?Angie?s List? for a job well done!
Description of Work: We returned from our summer vacation only to find that our A/C was out! The compressor was blown and the air handler was mechanically malfunctioning. Both needed to be replaced. Breakers were tripped. We needed action in a hurry. We quickly signed up as a member of “Angie’s List” and looked for a contractor. That was when we discovered “Greens Energy Service” and Russell. Russell gave our residence a complete going over to make sure our heat pump was adequately sized. Also, he made us aware of a Federal rebate on certain heat pumps. We did our homework, but he gave us three additional choices to consider. We happened to pick one of those choices. Installation was to begin on 10/06/10. Russell diligently kept in touch with us throughout the whole process to make sure that things were progressing. Thanks Russell. Gary & Steve promptly arrived to install our new system. It took them all day, but they got it done on time on a hot day. Job well done. On 10/11/10 Jim arrives to make sure everything was functioning OK and to make a few tests of the system. Everything looked good, except that in checking the refrigerant he had to add some more to top it off. We also went over our new thermostat’s operation and reviewed some items in our new heat pump manuals. Thanks Jim.
