Not at all what was contracted for. Job never finished. The offered to put in a replacement system for 8000.00 plus. Terrible service and even worse follow up when I requested a call back.

*****RAVE***** Huge thank you to Ryan from Fun In The Sun solar. He came out fixed our leak and reconnected our solar control panel. Now our solar will turn on and off on its own. Something our pool maintenance company couldn't figure out. Great communication and quick to come out. Didn't break the bank was a plus too....

Fun in the Sun declined to perform service and repairs on my six bowls ALTHOUGH they are named as the ONLY service shop by the bowls manufacturer stating they only service what they have installed themselves. Very disappointing business and service approach.

Very good. The technicians are knowledgeable and capable and they performed the repairs without any issues. They even installed a better relief valve set-up at no extra charge. Though the overall price was a bit high, I felt it was more or less in line with other pool expenses, which tend to run fairly high in the Orlando area. Paid $883 for the major repair and service, and several times have had them out to repair panel or pipe leaks, typically for about $180. We will continue to use this company.

The company assured me they would be willing to evaluate and let me know how we could proceed. When they actually went to schedule, I was told I would be charged a $79.99 service fee to look at my system that would be waived if I replaced all of my system, something I had already talked to them about not needing. They could have told me up front they were mainly interested in replacing my entire system. Wasted my time with them.

The installation went great and everything worked great for the first month.  Then the remote light switch died. They came out and replaced it a week later.  I was not too concerned at this point because the manufacturer of these switches is notoriously bad. Then a month later the heat pump went out.  I tried everything to get it going per the manual.  But no lights on the machine.  Then I found the circuit breaker behind a SECO Engery lock box.  With no way but to call them to open the box.  After they came out and opened the box we tried to reset the breaker.  Nothing changed, it was dead.  The VSP on another breaker in the same box is fine. I wasn't really that concerned about the heat pump being out this time of year as it gets plenty warm...  my problem began when I called them to fix it.  They can't get anyone out here for a week!  Worse yet.  The person on the phone kept telling me that it must be a breaker and did I check this and that etc...  After I told her I did.  (I'm and engineer)  3 problems really... why would they put the breaker behind a locked box and why would the person on the phone keep treating me like an idiot???  And why would they care so little it would take a week to get out to me? I even explained I have family coming in this week and are expecting a warm pool.

I find this to be pretty typical of most places in Florida.  They treat you great til something goes wrong. That's when you really find out what the company is all about.  This one isn't so good.

An update, after a week they came out to look at it, it started working before they came out. They looked at it but didn't do any testing.  Another week or so and now the heat pump goes on and off intermittently.

Every service provider seemed very friendly. When making an appointment, just know that it won't be for at least a week or two before they can get out to your house, they are very busy. They fixed our problem with our solar panels. If we decide we want to continue having them, we will definitely use this company.

It was exactly 12 months ago that I wrote a glowing review for this business.  Last October I paid $12,400 for two new
heaters at different homes, a tune-up of an existing solar system, plus a new solar system at one of the homes.  At the time,
I thought the company was very professional, even though they were more expensive than their competitors.

For the first 9 months after installation, the systems they installed were only operational for a few weeks at a time.  I purchased the solar system with the intention of saving on my energy bills, but I saw no savings, since the system was never running.

My troubles began within the first couple of weeks after installation.  The pool pumps at my homes were over-heating, and the heat from the pumps was causing some of the PVC piping to warp.  My pool technician who looked at the set-up said that my pumps were undersized and couldn?t effectively get the water from the pumps up to the roof and through the solar system.

Fun in the Sun convinced me that the pool technician was completely wrong, and that the size of my pumps was just fine.  They
suggested that I get all new piping that was running into the pumps, and check the pumps for leaks, which I did (at my expense).

The system started overheating again, and this time Fun in the Sun came out to the home to investigate.  They found a leak in one of the solar panels they had installed brand new.  They fixed the solar panel under warranty, and said everything should work now.

A couple of months later the same thing was happening ? the pump would overheat, the solar system would need to shut down, etc.  Once again I paid for someone to re-pipe and check all of the other aspects of the system, since Fun in the Sun convinced me my pumps were fine.

The system started running again, but now my spa jets would not work. I never really noticed that the spa jets weren?t working, until the solar system started working.  For all of these other months when the solar system was shut off, the spa was working.  Once the solar system was operational, the spa jets would stop.  I was told that my pool pumps were too small to run both the spa and the solar system at the same time.  Fun in the Sun denied there was any problem.

Within another couple of months, both pumps at both homes burned out.  Both of these pumps were about a year or two old, but the pool technician who installed them said that the warranty couldn?t be honored, because they weren?t made for the load required by the solar system.

At this time Fun in the Sun offered to sell me two new pumps that they assured me would get the job done.  Interestingly, the pump that they recommended was more powerful than the pumps they were replacing.  If my previous pumps were fine, why were they now recommending a larger pump?

The price they offered the pumps at was approximately double the price through Amazon.  I explained this to them, and
they suggested that I purchase the pumps on Amazon and they would install them for a fee.

They gave me a quote to install the new pumps over the phone, and then I e-mailed them to confirm the installation cost so we would have a written record.  A few weeks later I noticed a charge on my credit card ? for an amount that was higher than what they told me.  I e-mailed two of the owners of the company, and they told me that whoever gave me the price over the phone gave me the wrong price.  When I reminded them that I confirmed the price in an e-mail to them, they said ?oh yeah ? I saw your
e-mail come in, but you referenced the price towards the end and I didn?t read the whole thing?.  They refused to honor the price we had agreed to.

It was bad enough that they charged my credit card without my authorization (they used my credit card number from a previous transaction), they charged a higher amount than we agreed to.  At this point I was so upset I hung up the phone and walked away.

As bad as this was, the story actually gets worse.  One of the heat-pumps they installed stopped working the other week, about 3 days before the warranty was up.  I called Fun in the Sun, and I was told that they don?t do any warranty repair work on the heaters they install.  I reminded them that the heaters I purchased were less than a year old, and the reason I purchased the heaters from Fun in the Sun was the warranty.  They were selling these Pentair heaters for about 20% more than other dealers.

The person on the phone told me that ?our heaters do have a full warranty, we are just not trained on how to service the units ? we are only trained on how to install them?.  She then gave me an 800 number to call in order to have a different company come out to service the heaters.  The company that the manufacturer wanted to send out didn?t have any openings for two weeks, and I needed it fixed immediately since I had a paying guest staying in my Disney property, so I had to pay $210 out-of-pocket to get one of my brand-new heaters fixed.  The fact that Fun in the Sun doesn't service the heaters they install was NEVER DISCLOSED during the sales process.  I never would have selected them if I knew they couldn't stand behind their products.

Fin in the Sun is a big company.  If I was only dealing with underlings or customer service reps that might explain their lack of caring.  Since I was dealing with the owners though, it was extremely disappointing.

Since the new pool pumps were installed, and since I paid this other company to fix the heaters, both systems have now been operational for a couple of months.  This is the first continuous operation of these systems since last October.

I would suggest looking elsewhere for your heater and solar needs.

I called about 15 times and kept getting other companies like a chiropractor, an MLS service, a handyman etc. Finally I did reach Fun and Sammy answered. I'm guessing she was frustrated that there were phone issues. She said she had gotten 20 calls from my number today and that she called it back and spoke to a man who was dialing from his pocket. I told her there must be a line crossing issue and suggested that she call her phone provider because she could be losing business. While I was not able to get through to her company I had called 2 other pool companies and had gotten through just fine but I called Fun back because I had used them in the past.
She argued that it wasn't on her side and that she had a land line. I explained it could be an issue at the switch.
Our conversation got off on the wrong note and never really recovered. She looked me up and said that they hadn't been out here for 4 years for a solar panel leak. It sounded to me like maybe I wasn't important enough since I hadn't used their services for so long.
She then quizzed me about the pump so I went outside to look at it and tell her what I had. She told me that I had an aftermarket motor. I tried to schedule again and she said none of her technicians were available this week because they are all in training. I told her I couldn't let the pool sit and she said it was out of her control. So I thanked her, hung up and now I will schedule with another company. I will never call Fun In The Sun again due to how my call was handled by Sammy. I hope that they have a call recording system to hear how it went and so that they can offer coaching on how to handle potential new business.
