Everything went well except for the weather ,making painting somedays a problem. Jim started working early in the morning until the heat made it impossible to work. He was knowledgable, friendly and professional. We will use him when we move to our next residence.

I have a home with wood siding built in 1937 that is in the downtown Historic District. I started getting estimates for exterior painting in December but wasn't really comfortable because none of the painters were willing to 'brush' the house. They all wanted to spray. Usually when people spray, they use a roller to even out the paint. Rollers create texture which is not appropriate for wood siding. Then I received an email from Angie's List that mentioned a painter by the name "James Peck" whose company name is "European Finishing Touches". I called James and he had no problem agreeing to paint the house by brush. He also came up with some very good suggestions as to how some of the original features of the house could be accentuated. There was, for example, a little roof over a box that stuck out from the house. The roof was copper but had been painted over the years. He suggested stripping the paint from the roof and restoring the copper ... and he had the skill to do that. James is very professional. He arrives when agreed and is neat and clean personally and about his work. He works quickly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend James.
UPDATE: When James and I first spoke, work was very slow. He gave me a very good price. There was one day's work left to finish things up. It was agreed that he would do that work on May 31st. On that day I found the paint stacked outside of my garage. There was no note and no painter. I haven't heard from him since. After five weeks of not hearing, I found someone else to finish the work.
2ND UPDATE: Six weeks after having had no word from James, he showed up. He explained that there had been a communication problem and he apologized. He said that it was necessary for him to order the material he needed to strip the paint from the copper roof and that it had just come in. He also said that he had finished up much of what I had requested. I had not realized that as I never saw him again and I had not gone to check. He did not mention the building he was to have painted after having finished on my home but we parted on good terms.

Everything was excellent. He showed up on time rain or shine, at 6:30am. There were no delays, the materials were purchased up front so he was ready to go from day one. He is very honest and upfront. He is easy to talk with; I have recommended him to other friends of mine and he has done work for them. He also has a wonderful portfolio. The price was more than adequate and fair.

It was a great experience with Mr. Peck. Mr. Peck was recommended to me by another business. I asked him to come in and give me a bid on my kitchen for (painting and refinishing the cabinets) I like his straightforwardness with me, by answering my questions about what process it would take to do the cabinets. I knew without a doubt, if I wanted my kitchen 2 look good he would be the one. Each day I came in from work I never was disappointed, I will use his service again. I am very happy and satisfied.
