I made an appointment for a one-piece Kohler toilet removal and installation of a new Kohler Tresham toilet estimate initially, after getting an estimate from Angi for same quote for $194.00. "Eddie" came out and was very professional and highly skilled (had installed this toilet model many times) and shocked me with the price quote of $400! I negotiated and got an offer for $350 and proceeded with the install. It took this professional one hour to remove and install new toilet. He hauled away the old toilet as well. I would love to have "Eddie" as my plumber for everything but will not be doing business with this company in the future because of the exorbitant and unfair charges. It was explained to me that this was a specialty toilet but one piece toilets traditionally are less expensive labor wise to install.

The guy who came out to quote us for a leak into our pantry was a very pleasant guy but he immediately started pushing for a full repipe at over $11000. When we asked for a quote for just the current job he said $1600. We decided to hold off and get a second opinion. The job was done today for $275. Also, just because we may need a repipe done at some point we asked the other guy for a quote on that and it was nearly $3000 less.

Horrible!! Tried to rip me off. Was having a problem with garbage disposal. The guy came out did not try and dislodge from underneath only from the top. Stated he couldn't get the item(screw) out and I would have to replace the garbage disposal. I asked how much he quoted me $2200. I started laughing and though I didn't hear him correctly. I had just replaced that garbage disposal a few years earlier and it was only a few hundred dollars. I declined his services stating I would check around on prices because I thought his price was too high. Had a handyman come out, and within in 2 min. he was able to dislodge the screw. The quote to replace it was going to be $200 plus cost of garbage disposal at Lowes was $150. This guy was not only too high, he was trying to fleece me, this is criminal. I will never use this company again.

Find someone else! No address or phone number on invoice. Email bounces back, website doesn't work. Came out to give estimate for cleaning drain/sewer pipe and said they would have to have another company contact us to do. Not sure why they bothered to come out if they could not do. Quoted $458 to replace 2 outside faucet handles, which we declined (another plumber had already told us it would be $110 service call and $17/faucet). And then charged us $79 for a service call. Stay away!!

In New Smyrna and called 3 local plumbers in the phone book and nobody answered or called me back. Needing this done, I called BF as it seemed like a big company..They send plumbers the next day. Both guys were skilled and professional and they also did the hose bib for me..Hotwarer heater install was about $510 and the faucet was $135. I think all plumbers are expensive but was pleased with the work and professionalism.

They came on time, but the tech didn't really check anything. He just said the thermostat was fine without doing any tests, and then said we need a new water heater. He proceeded to give a quote for a new one with the installation. While they didn't charge us anything for the trip, he gave us a lot of incorrect information about how water heaters only last so long in our area and that the brand we had was not good. Another company came and found it WAS the thermostat and installed a new one in 30 minutes. This tech said we have another 7-8 years left with the water heater. I would not call this company again.

The first time we used Ben Franklin for this they did a great job and charged a fair price. However, our second experience with them was frankly unacceptable. The plumber tried to insist on doing all sorts of other expensive work before unclogging the drain and had a bad attitude when I insisted we didn't want or need to mess around with the septic tank. After my first encounter with him I jokingly told my wife to get ready to get reamed on the bill because he had an attitude, but unfortunately the joke was on me. Not including the trip charge we were billed $312 dollars for a 15 minute drain line unclogging. That's higher than the average price for that service, but what's really aggravating about it is that 9 months prior we were only charged $99 for the exact same service by the company. This was a price gouge because the employee had an attitude, plain and simple. It took us a few days to get ahold of the billing department only to be told that the price difference was due to being given a discount on the first trip, but honestly I don't buy it. They are supposedly sending us a $46 refund, but we will still NEVER call this company again because of this situation. I strongly recommend against using Ben Franklin for your plumbing needs, unless you want to roll the dice on getting a rude plumber that will overcharge you.

Not very professional. Dropped my part down the wall.

The plumbers first did an estimate of the work involved. Theirs was the mid-priced estimate of three I had received from three different plumbers, and I chose them because I liked their vibe and their reasoning why CPVC was better than PEX pipe (which was the material the lowest-priced vendor was going to use).  They immediately took $200 off the estimate, not because I had a coupon, but because they had a coupon in their truck.  We settled on a three-day period for repairs, and the workers were punctual each day.  They were considerate of my schedule and obligations; they cleaned up after their work each day with my vacuum, and their shop vac.  Since we ordered so much work done, they also threw in a few new plumbing fixtures for the bathtubs, which they installed.  My price also includes five years' service in their "Ben Club," where they will provide annual preventive maintenance throughout the house.  Any plumbing work done and items purchased during the course of the re-pipe were also sold to us at a 35% discount, which saved us considerably on the cost of the water conditioning system.

The plumber was punctual and professional, however he was very much a "corporate plumber," by which I mean he was 50% plumber and 50% salesman. I eventually got a quote from a different firm (mom and pop type) that was MUCH lower.

Generally I feel that Angie's list doesn't get at the and quot;valueand quot; of the work by just saying and quot;priceand quot; and letting you put in A, B, or C.... but here is an example where a company worked with me to come up with the best solution for this location at the best price. Very good to deal with a company like this--- and they were not only nice, they were on time, independent, professional, and clean.
