After a sometimes frustrating experience and about $1,700 in unanticipated “Change Order” fees with American Kitchens Inc. my new kitchen and 2 bathrooms turned out lovely due to follow through by the project manager However, I would suggest paying very close attention to every detail before signing a contract. Design errors and poor communication on their part may result in extra charges. For example, assuming finishing crown molding on a custom designed kitchen would be included? American Kitchens allowed me to use my credit cards without fees at the onset on the project and changed the rules mid project without any prior warning. This seems to be a bad business practice. The owner was abrasive and difficult to deal with in terms of customer relations and satisfaction. She seemed to be more interested in being right, rather than doing the right thing in resolving issues.

Everything was very professional and work is great. A few more things need to be done.

The worse customer service organization we have ever dealt with. Stay away from this company. We bought three cabinets for $2200 and had our contractor install them. Two of the doors on one of the cabinets arrived defective from the factory. Merillat will provide us new doors, but will not have them installed. We now must hire a contractor for the second time to install the new doors at our cost We have placed two calls to the Designer at American Kitchens Inc, Lora Lattin with no positive response. We made a request to talk with the owner, Tom Vravis , again no positive response. He was very rude and extremely self centered. Blamed his poor cabinet quality on our contractor and his inability to see this defective product when he picked them up. The defects were obviously from the factory and he refused to do anything to cover this cost. Even though he reps Merrilat Cabinets and should stand behind them, he had the nerve to tell me that if we had purchased a different more expensive brand that we might not have had the same experience. Stay away from this company at all cost.. BTW....they also wanted to charge us $300.00 to delivery three cabinets approximately 22 miles. We have never been treated this poorly or talked to in such a unacceptable manner.

Everything done on time, with quality and timeliness. Dealt with the owner directly and had his number at all times. He met us more than once when they were and quot;closedand quot;. He stopped by personally during the work. Provided subs were as good or better than he was.
I felt that the price was fair, the work excellent, the quality excellent. No complaints and would use them again (will when we do bathrooms).

They put a lien on my house because he had not finished the work and when I inquired about it he removed it. I wouldn't deal with them even when I had to add one more cabinet. I went someplace else.

American Kitchens did the entire job on schedule and within cost and was accomplished over a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to minimize the impact on our business. They had no problem working until 11 PM on Saturday and quickly adjusted to unforeseen problems to keep on schedule. The only minor drawback was that they could have done a better job cleaning up after the work was done.

We were very pleased with the overall quality and service. They were very helpful with the selection of both the cabinets and counters to meet our price range, style and quality desired. The installation was very efficient and prompt. We had some last minute issues due to missing cabinet parts, but those were resolved easily and quickly.
