The crew arrived on the set day and time. They completed the demo and removal of the old driveway. Then they graded and formed for the pour the next day. During the demolition one of the lawn irrigation pipes under the driveway was broken. The operator who also has a background in lawn irrigation fixed it immediately and checked the system for leaks. On Tuesday the crew and truck arrived on time, poured and finished the new driveway. The forms were pulled, grooves cut and job sight cleaned on Wednesday. Ben contacted me Thursday to review the completed work.
Ben, the company sales rep is very likable and has a no pressure assuring manner. The crew is professional and friendly. They notified me when they arrived and were leaving the job as well as the next days schedule. I was given all the information i needed about what they were doing and what to expect.
My job was completed totally to my satisfaction. The job went as planned, on time, as promised. They deserve an excellent rating.
charged us an extra $150.00 for 6 square feet of concrete. Their listing on Angies List indicated that accepted major credit cards and showed photos of the cards they accept. When came time to pay bill with CC, was informed that there was a 3% charge on all credit cards - that didn't show in the Angies listing. Talking out of both sides of their mouth ... not very professional.
"When we replaced the driveway, we did notice there was several black areas in the concrete. Something we have never come across before. In speaking with our sand provider, they informed us that there could be a problem with that sand we purchased and used for this project. The sand company paid for a total replacement of the driveway. We also explained to the customer that in some cases there are organic deposits in the soil/ground and that, as well, can cause discoloration int he concrete. That problem has arisen on us a couple times in the past. There is nothing we can do when that occurs. When the organic deposits in the ground are in high content, they mix with the wet concrete, which is organic as well, and rise to the surface, giving a discoloration in the concrete. If there is discolation in the driveway, it is not due to the workmanship of our company. We take great pride in the work that we do and do warrant against workmanship. We cannot warrant against mother nature. The driveway was redone and did NOT have a hole in it. We would never, never leave a job incomplete! The front and back porches were not torn out and replaced as they are informing you. The front porch was always to be only resurfaced. The back porch was intially supposed to be torn out and replaced. There is a zero lot line so we would have needed to enter the neighbors property in order to complete the job. The customer lead us to believe that that would be okay. When we began the job, we were going to enter the back yard and needed to use to neighbors accessfor our equipment. The neighbor came out and told us if we stepped one foot on his property he would call the police. He was not doing this woman any favors. We then could only resurfaced the back porch. We resurfaced the front and back porches with a product called Nu-Coat. It is a masonry expoxy designed to refresh concrete surfaces. When Roger went back out after the initial complaint, he found the back porch did have discoloration. But it was from the sprinklers. There is iron in the water and the sprinklers are hitting the porch. We have done all we can do for this customer. We replaced her driveway twice. If we felt in any way that the work completed was not to the best standards, than we certainly would take care of it. As you know, we already did replace the driveway a second time. I believe that should show that we do care about our reputation. Unfortunately, there are some people that will never be satisfied. We dealt with two ladies on this job. One was the mother, who was very affable, the other was her daughter, who was very disputatious. When the job was completed, the mother was very satisfied with the outcome of our work. The daughter was not satisfied with any part of our work. I do hope this response sheds some light on this complaint. We do take complaints very seriously, and as I said, we did resolve the issue very satisfactorily."
After speaking to the representative he explained why this was. Glad i went with them and hopefully this last a long time.
