Dishonest and unethical company. There are other septic companies in this area who offer better and honest service. I hired A-1 septic to do a pre-house purchase inspection for the house in which I am now currently living. The only uncovered one of the access ports of the two chamber septic tank. During their inspection, they backfilled into the septic tank and said that it was not draining adequately and the drain field was only operating at 40-50% capacity. They said I would need a new drain-field at a cost of almost $10,000. After purchasing the home, I reached out to other septic companies to get additional quotes for a drain field repair. Multiple other septic companies said it would be highly unusual for a house as young as mine to already need a septic drain field replacement. I paid one of these other companies to do another inspection. They uncovered both ports of the septic tank, which is standard practice. The simple reason why the tank was training slowly, was that the filter needed to be removed and sprayed off with a garden hose. In short, my house had no need for a replacement drain field and just needed simple maintenance of spraying off the septic tank drain filter. I reached out to A-1 septic to ask why both septic tank ports were not accessed during the inspection and why the filter was not confirmed to be the cause of the slow draining before recommending a $10,000 septic drain field replacement. They replied saying, "we don't look at the filter during the inspection." Other companies I reached out to said they would look at the filter if they noted slow draining of the septic tank during an inspection. I attempted to resolve the issue with A-1 septic, but they refused. Companies like this do not deserve your money since they will lie to you and attempt to sell you services that you do not need.

Company's initial quote was for $2500 plus cost of fill dirt, it was suppose to take 3 weeks. Final bill was $4725, almost twice their quote and it took 5 weeks to complete! Do not use this company, Unreliable and Untrustworthy!!!

Very disappointed after paying $9500 and finding out that people posted on a local Facebook page that they paid between $3500 and $5300. I sent the owner a letter after learning this, no response, so I sent an email on 7/19 and was told I would get a response within 72 hours. Have heard nothing. I feel we as senior citizens were definitely taken advantage of, system seems to be working but it should for that kind of money.

This company total FRAUD, very unprofessional people work there & frankly bunch crooks, specially drivers go to your property. Only training they have is how to charge customers for as much they possibly can every time & sell you all kinds services you don't need with only purpose increase your bill. In my case They were paid to empty septic, service which they didn't performed & when driver arrived at my property tried get extra charges from me on filter replacing service which total scam, BE AWARE. Month later septic still full & when called was told problem was pump this time & they tried charge $1k for it. When their service was refused, they sent me letter saying I breached contract & a charge of $175 for "service call" according them on estimate, but without anyone there mentioning or telling me before hand was going get that charge, basically trying EXTORTION this time to get money for doing nothing & threatening put illegal lien in my house 1300 miles away. DO NOT HIRE this company or you will pay the price, bottom line, they bunch crooks with poor knowledge of the business they in & using FRAUD & EXTORTION get pay. If similar happened to you make the complaint with Better business bureau & FL department consumer affairs to put these crooks out business for good. Get your facts straight, you supposedly empty the tank on October 21 at which time no one indicated anything of sorts defective pump. That was reason called when month later tank still full without anyone using water. Very much doubt you did the job you was paid for to begin with. No one in your office mentioned anything about any service fees ever, I guess you don't know the crooks you have working for you. I only called once, did not leave message & someone called back only thing said was someone was going check next morning, did not mentioned anything about service fees ever. Fallowing day guy called me, again without mentioning anything about service fee either, only said pump was bad this time & only time was stated & that was going cost me $1k fix. Of course I declined & no one else called me either. First I hear service charge is letter i got in mail. Frankly your people are the lairs & you should do better job getting your facts straight, unless you the owner is as much crook as the people work for you.

System was great.. Workmanship TERRIBLE. They used substandard Back Hoe Driver and Truck Drivers who Broke Edge of Driveway. Back hoe had blade down too far and put long gouges in the driveway. I called sale Rep Tom to come by and view damage. He said it was terrible and took pictures. That was it. No response other than read your contract. It states, "Any damage is owners responsibility." So they can get anyone to do work and do damage...you pay. It was negligence. It cost $2300 to have portion of driveway repaired. They are UNPROFESSIONAL. Poor workmanship during job. Pictures are proof of their negligence. Try any other company then A1 Septic.

This company was recommended to me by the realtor as well as two of my friends that had used them in the past.  The excellent service started when I called to make an appt.  I called around 5pm the night before and to my amazement, a live person actually picked up the phone. Karen was very pleasant and professional. She described in detail the inspection services they provided.  I was given two choices and decision was left to me to make.  I selected the service and she scheduled my appointment.  The next day the technician called me as he was driving to the property.  He pumped the tank and did a thorough inspection of the tank and drainfield.  I was given the proper documentation and was given a peace of mind that the drainfield and tank were in proper working order.  The technician was professional and he was not trying to sell me anything I did not need.  I will certainly recommend their services to my family and friends and look forward to using them in the future.  This is my first home with a septic tank so the education they provided on the system was very valuable.  Thank you A1.

The whole story is long and involved - the synopsis appears above. The bottom line is that, in an attempt to sell/upsell hundreds of dollars worth of services that were never needed, A-1 cost several adults hours worth of time from work, including Green's Environmental (who charged me nothing), and Glen Tatum (who charged me next to nothing). These two honest companies took their time and energy trying to make right the confusion A-1 set in motion. Again, stay away from A-1 Septic.

We called A-1 to inspect a septic tank and drainfield in a home that we were going to purchase. We were trying to cover all of our bases so we didn't get any expensive surprises once we moved in. The technician arrived 45 minutes earlier than the scheduled time, so my husband was not yet at the home. Meanwhile, the technician chatted with the homeowner and opened up the septic tank ports. (we were paying for this inspection and we needed a complete and unbiased report) The technician ran some faucets in the home and wrote a report that stated the system was working well and the drainfield was working and was "free of roots." Well, 2 months later, we are all moved in and now the drainfield has failed. When I called several other septic companies for estimates for a new drainfield, they told me they remembered this house because they came out in March of this year and told the owner that his drainfield was bad and they quoted a new drainfield price. So somehow, due to the incompetence of A-1, we are on the hook for about $2,800 for a new drainfield. The facts show that this drainfield was declared bad by 2 other septic companies in March of this year, so how did A-1 pass it? One of the other companies that I had come out told me they did not understand how A-1 was able to say that there were no roots in the drainfield withoug digging it up (which of course they did not). In fact, you can clearly see several large roots right in the area where the drainfield is. So I am very unhappy with the work of A-1. They also need to arrive on time, not 45 minutes early, without even telling us.

I never had a septic system before. We purchased the house in October 2008 and had no idea when it was last pumped. I decided to contact a service before we had to make an emergency call. They came on time, their job supervisor explained how our particular system is set up with tank, pump and drainage field and hints on keeping it functioning at its best. The tank was almost full, so the timing was right. Upon completion they cleaned up very effectively and all I had to do was put a strip of sod over the tank cover.

We had a septic emergency on a weekend. A toilet was backing up due to laundry being washed. We had a plumber clear the toilet line but found no blockage. I uncovered the septic tank at his recommendation and found that the tank had been so full that septic waste was backing up into the house. I then used another company on an emergency basis to pump the tank. Based on Angie's List, I called A-1 to evaluate the situation. Company field technical representative (Doug) came to the house right on time and viewed the already pumped out septic tank. He fully discussed the possible problems ranging from a clogged distribution box to the possibility of having a clogged leach field that might need replacement. He recommended we have the drain field distribution box pumped out and cleaned, and then the individual drain or leach field lines tested to find out why we had a too full septic tank. They came the next morning with a pump truck, found and dug up the distribution box, cleaned it, and tested the individual drain field lines with a high pressure water delivery hose. Fortunately the distribution box was clogged (perhaps never been pumped out) and the drain lines were clear - fully accepting the high pressure water. Doug oversaw the entire work and it was completed in 2-3 hours. I accepted their recommendation of adding a gallon of special enzyme to the tank that would help breakdown future solid waste. Very professional company with lots of knowledge of the situation and possible outcomes. Low key approach that was quite helpful in this stressful situation. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to anyone.

The A-1 Septic employee was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 am on a Monday morning. He showed up on time and began work immediately and was very friendly while working. He did a good job making sure the tank was cleaned properly and checked for any blockage of the main line into the tank. He took pride in returning the removed soil and sod that was taken out to expose the septic tank lid. He stated that the lawn looked so nice he did not want to damage it with his work. The price was very competitive and their work was prompt and completed in approximately 45 minutes. They also allowed me to use a discount coupon for the final payment.

They took care of everything and in a very timely manner. Very reasonably priced and they did an excellent job. They passed the inspection and the yard looks very good. I would use them again and recommend them. It was a very stressful time and they helped us out.

I waited several weeks for them to get the job permitted, even though I had to pay 50% up front. When they finally did come out to complete the job, they did so quickly. However, they tore my sprinkler piping and wire in the process and simply covered it up without telling me they broke it. The supervisor Jonathan came out and reviewed the damage and agreed that the technician would have known that he damaged the pipe. I had to pay my sprinkler repair company an additional labor amount to locate the damage because A-1 neglected the professional courtesy to admit to the damages.
