The air conditioner went out at a family member's house late on a Friday night. Keith came out immediately and in the pouring rain and fixed the problem pretty quickly. Then he hung around for a bit to make sure the unit was going to come on and off as it should. During that time the thunderstorm knocked out the power, so he waited until the power came back on, and then he found that the capacitor needed to be replaced as a result of the power outage. My elderly relative felt comfortable with Keith and we were all pleased with his work/price. Very thankful that he could come out so quickly and fix the A/C unit within a short time for a good price. Thank you, Keith! Looking forward to working with you in the future.

Our experience with A-1 Heat and Air was beyond disgusting! Because of the heavy rains over the last several days our A/C system became inundated with water which caused freezing in the lines and the A/C stopped working, forcing us to live with 85 degree temperatures inside the house for 2 days. We called A-1 to come and repair the system, for which they charged a double few just to come out on a Sunday. We were told that our Coil was leaking and was bad and just to leave the system off for a few days while they sourced a new part. THEY QUOTED US OVER $3,000 TO FIX THE UNIT! The next day we called a trusted and Veteran A/C technician who immediately came in and fixed the entire problem within 15 minutes!! He blew out the lines with compressed air, and said that THE PREVIOUS TECHNICIAN (ANGEL WAS HIS NAME from A-1 Heat and Air) HAD DELIBERATELY LOOSENED THE GAS SUPPLY VALVES, letting all of the gas out and to pretend that the entire system was bad and to charge us $3,000!! UNBELIEVABLE!! When we found this out we completely went through the roof and want to warn others, DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY WORK ON YOUR A/C UNIT TO FALSELY CHARGE YOU THOUSANDS OF EXTRA DOLLARS!! BUYER BEWARE!! As a consumer it is unbelievable to me that this sort of thing still happens. I feel violated and would never trust them again or let them set foot in my house ever again.

That is when we started with them. One guy came out.

I had been using them for a maintenance on my old system for quite a while. They also installed a new one just before I moved. I had been using them for years and I was happy with their installation. I've moved out of the area. If I was still in the area, I would still be using them.

I had a perfect experience with them. I have a contract with them and get significant discounts. For instance, this month I saved $66.00. They came by to fix my problem and did it very quickly. I've been using them for years.

We called for a repair and were advised we needed new unit since ours was 8 years old. We were given an estimate of $$3,647 which we agreed upon and set a time for installation. Day prior to installation we received a call that unit would be $$4,516. As we had already set aside our time for the work, we said OK. They came on time and installed during a heavy rain. Work was done well and promptly. Only complaint is that although they did clean up somewhat I still had to mop floor of garage in front of washer and dryer repeatedly to get all mud up. Drop clothes or heavy plastic taped to garage floor in installation area would have solved this problem. I should have shopped around for unit efficiency and price so I can not comment on value or quality of unit. It does cool well and unit looks nice.

Alex from AC - 1 was great. New A/c is a big purchase. I got six proposals, ranging from $4500 to $12,500. Alex won out business because he went extra mile to educate us provided good equipment at fair price. Very professional.

The old addage of you get what you pay for certainly holds true with this company. We had an old A/C unit removed and a brand new 15 SEER Amana unit installed. The install seemed to have gone okay, however we found out later there were damaged ducts and the condensate pump was damaged. Having purchased their extended and upgraded labor and parts warranty and having been promised by Jeremiah that purchasing the service warranty would cover all major issues, labor and manufacturer defects and would NOT incur a service fee just to come out, we called their service.

After ONLY 8 months of having the new unit installed, the air handler went out and we called the service tech at 7pm. This is the middle of August in Central Florida which is the worst possible time for your A/C to go out. After only 8 months the A/C was not working. Furthermore, the service tech said he would have to charge $85 service trip to come out JUST TO LOOK AT the problem. We explained we had purchased the service plan and he laughed and said, it was still be $85, unelss we waited for the following morning in which case, mysteriously, there would be no charge.

It turns out the service technician just didn't feel like coming out at night to fix the problem, which we later found out from the main office that the technician had lied to us and it didn't make a difference whether it was at night or in the morning.

Finally, we had other issues with the A/C which was labor related which they ended up charging $85 for EACH TRIP even after having spent $350 for their service plan which apparently didn't cover anything.

I would advise everyone to stay away from this company for ANY of your service needs. Feel free to google them and you'll find others who have complained about this company and their dishonest practices.
