"I apologize that our office didn't notify you of EPA rules that we have to abide by, but most of our staff is working remotely at this time due to COVID-19 and that complicates access to records. In addition, our phone provider had an issue and our VOIP phones were useless for a portion of the day. We did refund your $89 as per your request. While you are correct, anyone that has stockpiled R22 or purchased salvaged R22 can sell it BUT not after we have identified that you have a leak in the system. It is illegal to recharge a system with a known leak and as the owner, you have 30 days after you are aware of the leak to make arrangements to repair the leak or replace the system. R22 contributes to the depletion of the ozone and for anyone to continue to add R22 to a known leaking system is disservice to our planet, not to mention subject to a $10,000 EPA fine. So, I hope you can understand our position now and why we could not add any more R22 to your system."
I was again very happy with the service I received from 4 Seasons. I say again because we've been calling on them for 9 years. From capacitor replacement to condenser fan motor replacement, they have kept my now 18 year-old Trane system running in top condition. A few years ago, when there was a particularly difficult problem, they sent a senior technician and he resolved it quick enough.
I originally met the owner, Brian Hastings, in 2004 during a meeting of a business networking group. During the 4 years we were both in that group, I never had a concern about his business nor heard of any problems. The technician ?Tony?, who I now ask for specifically, has been with 4 Seasons for more than twenty years. That says a lot about how Brian treats his employees. His family business opened in 1953.
"We have searched our database and don't have that address or your name in our records. Please give us a call if this repair may have been at a different address than listed in your review. If we charge someone in error, I want to make sure that we make things right. The prices you reference in your review are not correct for our service repair price book. Thank you, Brian"
Update 9-29-14 We now have mold due to your flagrant lack of work. All the attic and all the house was tested for mold and guess what the entire house has it so now we have to move out. Thanks for screwing up so bad just for a buck.
Update:NIGHTMARE 9-16-2014
Because of the poor work by your company there is still pink fiberglass, white fiberglass and cellulose that has gotten into the entire house. Because none of the back duct work was sealed the leak that was suppose to be fixed wasn't fixed and now the entire house is contaminated. Cellulose won't normally bother anybody unless it has been disturbed. Well the attic was disturbed all right b/c the ceiling in the office caved in about a 3x3 foot area, as well as the hallway is cracked all the way down. This is due to the fact that none of the back 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and the hall were never sealed and the air conditioning is going into the attic meeting the hot air and of course making it damp. Also, you did not put the bathroom vent to go outside it was just blowing all the damp air into the attic.
Now they think we will need mold remediation. The new a/c handler now is ruined and needs to be replaced.
Had 3 different companies come in and all 3 gave the same results. Everything below is the work that needs to be done.
All of the duct work in the entire house has to be replaced, all the boots holding all the vents need to be replaced, all the ceilings in the rooms above have to be removed and replaced. All the insulation has to be sucked out of attic and ceilings then replaced. New air conditioner needs to be removed and replaced. This nightmare will take approximately 2 months to do the contractors all said. So where do you suppose we have to go?? To a Hotel that is pet friendly for 2 months or more. We surely hope that you will pay for that b/c the job you did now has affected my health permanently. We have a home inspection report that clearly shows all the leaks from fiberglass and wet areas. There is no cure for the 2 autoimmune diseases I have gotten from breathing in all this crap. I am absolutely so upset that now b/c of such a sloppy job we are breathing in cellulose that is in the house from the ceiling collapse as well as the continuation of the pink fiberglass.
We are hoping that you will actually take responsibility for what has happened and at a minimum pay for the hotel room for at least 2 months.
Also, we now have to have a remediation team come in to clean all of our belongings before we can move back into the house b/c according to the EPA this is what must be done to have the house and any furnishings to the standard that is safe. We will have to throw away all of our large area rugs, all the curtains, all cloth furniture and everything else to be cleaned. If they find more mold than we won't even be able to keep porous woods either they all will need to be thrown away.
My problem with this company is that we are still having the fiberglass, debris, pebbles, thick gross dirty dirt coming out of all the vents. I think they did not replace the duct work in back of house just sealed it. We were told by experts that is all had to be replaced with brand new b/c once the duct work is compromised it is always going to be compromised unless it is taken out and new is put in.
Either way I don;t care I just care that we still are having debris come out of all the vents into my hair and skin and house and everywhere. We are still bagging up all of these leaks.
They can fix this problem by figuring out why this is still happening when they promised the leak problem was over. So put new in if you didn't before then find the problem and repair that so the leak stops. I know that the floor in the attic is filthy dirty and probably a large reason for the leak.
Please just fix the problem ASAP no matter what it takes. I am calling the city inspector the beginning of next week to have them look into this issue so that it can be resolved.
The men that came here were great as was Tony who came 2 times and is coming back to make adjustments on which rooms are not getting enough a/c coming out.
5-5-14 Update: Concerning the reply from the provider. I have to say OMG there is white fiberglass mixed with pebbles and all kinds of dirt on the attic floor that is blowing into the home. There is still pink insulation/fiberglass blowing into the home and it has been 6 weeks already if not more. It is in my hair every single day. I am shocked by your comments saying it is dirt we are bringing into the home. Are you serious?
We had to buy air purifers and after 12 hours of running in the front open area of our house it has pink insulation attached to the screen. We will be taking video of this so that we can add to this review as well as pictures. We have called the City back and in 2 weeks we are to call them back b/c they said to wait 2 months and 2 months is up in 2 weeks. However, we are absolutely positive they will have to come back in to investigate why all of this debris and insulation is still coming out. We believe it is b/c all the air duct was not exchanged for new duct work. The front of the house is all new but the back is not. We were told to begin with that if all the duct work was not replaced that it will never stop the insulation blowing into the house. They said that the old duct-work will now contaminate the new duct work and that until it is all new our house with continue to be a "Dirty House".
I don't understand why you would listen to a company that does not install air conditioners and heaters and duct work. I am sorry that you listened to them but everyone knew that we had all these things blowing into our home it was quite obvious and everyone was told in advance about all these issues. So maybe you should talk to the IAQ company and perhaps they will rectify the situation for you. All we know is that it never stopped being in the hair counters, floors, tub, sink, light fixtures, dryer vent after every load. It isn't blowing as much as before but pretty close.
Here it is August and nothing has been done to fix the fiberglass insulation leak we still have in the home. I can assure you that we spoke to the City of Casselberry a couple of times concerning this and they said it is your responsibility to fix any problems and leaks and they don't know why the attic floor was not cleaned when the job was completed. We are talking about white fiberglass that has brown/black dirt on it with pebbles, looks like roofing pebbles we are not sure we just know that a whole bunch of crud is still coming out and needs to be repaired. You did not do new ducts in the bedrooms correct? Because if you did not install new in the bedrooms and used the old, all other providers stated that all duct work in house needed to be replaced otherwise the entire system is compromised. So this needs to be done ASAP not when I am done with chemo I am breathing this fiberglass, it is in my hair, clothes, pillows everywhere and I need it done ASAP I should not be breathing this crap while on Chemo b/c it is making it worse. My illness's were caused by the insulation and they are not curable so can you at least get the air to be clean??
"I spoke to [member name removed], the homeowner, and let her know that when you are done with the chemo treatments we will be more than happy to check all of the ducts again. The duct is all new and for the first few days it isn't unusual for small amounts of fiberglass to come out of the grilles. After that you shouldn't see any thing. There were no pebbles or dirt in the attic so I would suspect they may have been carried in via someone's shoes. All of our work was done as per the IAQ specialists recommendations and was inspected by both the City and our Installation Manager. Pets, burning candles, furniture, clothing and humans all release particulate into the atmosphere and with the wood floors in the home, it is easy to spot the resulting debris. Let us know when you are ready and we will be glad to recheck everything for you."
