Didn't receive a call on that date, as agreed, to set up an actual meeting time. After reaching out 2 days later via message service thru Angie's List, still have heard nothing from Gabe or Tree Life LLC. No longer interested in their service, do not do business with companies that operate like this. Would like a refund.

They were supposed to contact me by Oct 31st. They did not. I emailed them and they responded stating they had Nov 6th available and would call the next day. They did not. I called them on Nov 11th and they said they would be out Nov 13th between 11am and 1 pm. They did not show and did not call. I cannot get them to come out.

I called for an estimate for some tree removal in my backyard. They were very responsive and showed up the same day to look at what needed to be done. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing I have to say about my experience with this company. The estimator was not very professional. He spent most of the time just telling me how difficult the job was going to be. He tried to convince me that instead of hiring them for the specific job, that I should hire them for the whole day (at a daily rate of somewhere in the neighborhood of $2200). This would allow them to do the work I needed done, and also to do any other tree work around the house I might want done. When I pressed him for a rate for just the work I wanted done, he said he needed to consult with his team and get back to me. He also spent a lot of time chit-chatting and making small talk about unrelated topics. In other words, he kind of overstayed his welcome.
He called me back a few days later with a price of $1000 to do the work I needed done. I didn't use this company because I got a better price and better professionalism from other companies.

"This estimator no longer is associated with us. Most customers loved him but i have to admit he was quite the talker when given the opportunity."

It was GREAT! I first found this company on the internet and gave them a call Friday afternoon. I spoke with Jim and explained what we needed done. He offered to come out the next day (Saturday) and take a look at our site and give me an estimate. He showed up early and told me what he thought it might cost. After confirming with his boss (Roger) he called me back and we set up a time for them to come the next day.

They showed up a little late, but that was because their previous job ran over. Once they got here, they got to work right away. Within ten minutes the pine tree was down and they had cut off the branches to the palmetto. Then they brought in this really cool remote-controlled stump grinder. It made short work of the huge palmetto stumps, and also the 5 or so tree stumps that were left. They tilled the soil so it's ready for us to sod. They completed the whole job in under two hours!  This is something that would have taken MANY man hours by my husband to complete alone.

They were great to work with -- nice, respectful and enjoyable to talk to. We will definitely use them again should the need arise. I would highly recommend them for a tree/stump removal project.

The service is great. This is the second time that we have used them and we are extremely pleased. The price is reasonable and they did a wonderful job. They cleaned up everything. We will highly recommend them and in fact, our neighbor is having work done by them today.

I would not recommend this company to my friends.
Response from Tree Life LLC
"After removing a few large branches off the buildings for free ! Roger looked over the job and informed the estimator that a crane would be needed as well as the company bucket truck. This would ensure safety of the workers and property. As a result the estimate was more than the customer wanted to pay . This is why Roger the V.P. usually looks over more involved jobs . We understand that its hard to justify the price of more complicated and dangerous procedures. Until customers see what is involved and the equiptment need to ensure jobs are preformed as safely as possible . Please understand that this is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. We do not cut corners or rush jobs . When you try to do tree work with out the proper equiptment to save money . This makes the job more dangerous for everything and everyone. I will not put my men or my equiptment /reputation at risk for anyone trying to cut corners or doesn't value quality work from hard working honest people."

They’re going to do work for me next week.  They were professional and they came out at the appointment time; I didn’t have to wait on them.  The pricing seemed high but I know the work is dangerous and it was consistent with the other estimates I got.

I discussed in detail with Roger what we were trying to accomplish (sunlight for fruit trees, space to play, etc.) and our ideas of how to get there. He gave his own suggestions and then created a detailed map back yard with a thorough estimate.

Because of the amount of work he suggested the per-day rate instead of the per-tree rate to save us money. Within two weeks he had six guys out in my yard trimming and removing trees. After removing 10 large trees, there was no house damage. One fence plank got snapped, which he promptly fixed. And we lost one lemon, one tangerine, and 3 orangequats after removing several trees that were growing close to (and over top of) them.

I would recommend Roger and his crew to anyone that needed tree work done.
