At the beginning of April I started seeing the pool start going green again and dreaded the inevitable string of calls and texts I would have to begin to get my pool clean again. I called instead to get some estimates and opinions from other pool companies. One offered to come over to see my pool (after it's weekly service mind you) and mentioned about the algae growing and other needs it had. They told me more about my pool in one visit than I had heard in the past 10 months with Sparkle. I had significant trouble communicating my needs and knowing what was going on with my pool without having to call every week. I would have appreciated a simple hangtag after the visit with a few words telling me something I needed to know or do (like fill up the pool, or the pump is making a lot of noise-it might need to be replaced).
Description of Work: We are not "pool saavy" so Sparkle Pools was hired to maintain the pool of our rental home on a weekly basis for $150/mth. When we moved in last summer, the pool looked great and the water was clear. In December, over the holidays, the pool started looking a bit greenish and we questioned our pool tech who insisted it wasn't algae but just some debris falling from the trees. When we missed a weekly visit due to their vacation period, the pool went from slightly greenish to swamp green in a matter of days. I called the company to report and even sent them pictures and was told speak directly with my pool tech. The following week they shocked the pool but it still took several weeks to look better. I was concerned about the film stuck to the sides of the pool. I called and reported again and asked for it to be brushed. So a week later when it still wasn't done I called back and was told that they would have to vacuum it and I needed to fill it up to the top. I spent about a month calling the company on a weekly basis to complain about one thing or another that had not been done. It finally looked like the old clear pool by March.
