I have brick pavers on my patio, driveway and porch/walkway. Over time there had been accumulation of mold, moss and debris between the pavers. I found Perfect Sealing using google. Brian Meyer came over and was professional and thorough, even noticing the algae growth on parts of my stucco home surface and chimney. We settled on a price of $1800 for pressurre washing house, pavers, filling between pavers with "polymeric" (aka sand) and sealing pavers. He assured me I would have no more ant hills or bugs burrowing through the cracks in the pavers and that there would be no more weed growth between the pavers on my patio and driveway. He collected half up front and began the work. Pressure washing went ok. My patio and front porch were still moist so he used a flame heating device to evaporate the moisture, along the way singing and bubbling the paint on my front porch stucco. "polymeric" (aka sand) was then spread over all of the pavers to fill in the cracks. I was told by Brian that he graciously cleaned my pool filter bacuase some of the "polymeric" (aka sand) got in my pool. I was vacuuming "polymeric" (aka sand) out of my pool and spa for one YEAR after this. Prior to doing the actual sealing, he asked for the remainder of payment. This should have been a huge red flag, but me being a trusting person, I paid him. Big mistake. He proceded to seal the patio, driveway, and walk in the front of my house, but not my front porch. He got sealant on the stonework around my spa. Then the pavers on my patio turned white and the "polymeric" (aka sand) began to bleed through the moisture from his pressure washing. After much prodding through emails and phone calls, he returned to use a xylene compound to get the whiteness out of my patio pavers. After complaining about the algae and bleeding throught the "polymeric" (aka sand), he came over when I was not home and used my garden hose to essentially blast out any wet sand, getting sand in my pool again and all over the windows and glass doors on my patio. I then reminded him that he had not finished my front porch. He said it was still moist so he could not seal it, recommending I put a fan out there to dry it for a couple of days. He didnt show up to finish it and meanwhile I had accumulated about $200 in extra charges on my electric bill. I proceded over the next month to prod him through emails and phone calls to either finish the job or issue me a refund. He answered the emails in a very juvenile fashion, even saying that he spent more in gas getting to my house than the refund would be (I saved all of the emails). To this day he has not finished the job. And to top it off, most of the "polymeric" (aka sand) in the pavers on my driveway, walk and uncovered protion of my patio has chipped out and there are weeds and ant hills as well. I called Brian Meyer and discussed the his company sealing the pavers around my pool. He met me onsite with his wife and I was convinced the value of his service was worth the cost. I was very optimistic at the reduction in maintenance and the overall appearance sealing would provide. He was polite and professional. The work was completed within a reasonable time. At first I was pleased with the results. After a few weeks the pavers under the roof of the porch began to turn white. As the days progressed the issue became more apparent. I called Brian and left a message explaining my concerns. After not receiving a call I continued to call and leave messages over the following weeks. I suspected his company was no longer in business. The issue became worse. I also noticed that written on the receipt was an statement that the process would prevent chalking. Finally after multiple calls I called from my work number and Brian answered. He apologized and explained that this had happened to several other customers and he was working on a solution and would stop by to take a look. After a few weeks I called back. He asked that I remove the porch furniture and the would be by to fix the issue. I have no evidence that he came by. I called again and he said that he was too busy with the Home and Patio show and decided that he would tell me how to fix the issue. He instructed me to go to home depot, purchase the materials, and then he would reimburse me for the materials. I was speechless. Had I had time to do this I would have done it myself from the beginning. I told him that I would be out of town for the next week. He told me that he would stop by and fix the problem before I returned. I returned and no work had been done and had received no calls from Brian. My paver deck looks worse that it ever did before the work, I'm out $895, and have waisted too much of my time pursuing a solution. When I have time I will attempt fix the problem myself. I have wasted too much time attempting to get an acceptable resolution from Perfect Sealing. I personally take pride in the work that I perform. It is unfortunate that more contractors do not.
