During original meeting with owner of company, the best path for getting new wiring runs from one side of kitchen to other was determined. The path was to be going around the room in the walls, so when the new cabinets were installed along the walls, they would hide the patches in the drywall. Problem was the lead electrician came back to start the job, not the owner. He figured the shortest path was going through the ceiling and proceeded to trash the ceiling with numerous cut-outs getting the new wiring runs across the room. Repairing the ceiling took a drywall repair expert all day, and a knock-down rig was brought in to coat the entire ceiling. The ceiling repair bill was about 50% of the electrical job. This could have been avoided if the owner had communicated with his lead electrician that it's better to tear up walls in a kitchen remodel instead of the ceiling.
