Don't let the name deceive you; I'm not sure who's family was put first, but it definitely was not mine. While the house was alright, the seller seemed to be of the impression that it was worth much more than what it appraised for. If you're good with pursuing purchasing a home and being treated by the seller as though buyers are a dime a dozen, then this is the company for you. Further, the seller canceled out on a verbal rental agreement (for less than 2 weeks prior to our actual closing) as we were driving over to sign the papers and move in (his reasoning was that he had suddenly decided to call his lawyer, and the lawyer advised against it. . this, again, as we're driving our U-haul over. . ). He was unable to be reached to confirm he would even be showing up for the closing until the day of, and even at that, he showed up over a half an hour late. After living in the home for 3 days, I did my first load of laundry, which caused the toilet, tub and sink to overflow and partially flood our newly purchased home. Further, the AC does not effectively cool the house (I've literally been sleeping with ice packs because it's July and the house is so hot) though he claims he put in a new AC unit that should take care of everything. . . This company is notorious for flipping houses; this house wasn't technically a 'flip' because they did do some improvements (which means people/contractors were in the home and using the facilities etc.); however, I highly doubt the seller was completely unaware of the plumbing/AC situation. So we're 3 days in and I'm looking forward to see what other exciting things we discover this week.
