Color Your Carpet

Back in July, an entire glass of orange gatorade was spilled on our 10 x 14, light gray, wool rug.  We attempted to blot and quickly remove the stain using vinegar and club soda, but we had no luck.  We had our rug professional cleaned, and the nasty orange stain persisted.  At this point, I began looking into alternatives to having the rug repaired rather than just live with this 1.5' x 1.5' stain on the rug (i.e., hiding it under furniture).  This is when I stumbled across Color Your Carpet.  Being that there wasn't a branch located near where we lived, I contacted the national number.  I completed the request form and sent pictures, but after this, I didn't hear anything back.

After a few months, I got desperate and started dialing actual Color Your Carpet branches to see what was going on.  This is when I called Rich (FL office), and he explained that since we were out of area that typically a traveling technician would take care of us; however, he was willing to help us with our rug debacle.  We first had contact w/ Rich the beginning of December.  We e-mailed him photos, and he told us a good time to ship him our rug (availability).  We were a bit hesitant to ship our 10 x 14 wool rug, but he assured us that many customers do this, and he even gave us instructions on how to fold the rug.  He also asked us to include a color sample of what color we'd like the rug dyed.  He even gave us advice on how to secure the best pricing when shipping the rug (You pay for shipping there and back.).

We shipped our rug the week after Christmas.  Rich promptly notified us when he received the rug.  He also sent us pictures when he completed the rug for our approval.  He had a bit of trouble with the stained part of the rug, and he even called to tell us that he had a setback and would need to dye the rug a bit darker to deal w/ that pesky orange gatorade stain.  About a week later (Jan 20th), our rug was delivered.  Rich did an excellent job removing any traces of the orange gatorade incident.  Gatorade is no longer allowed in the living room, so we hope to not use Rich's services on this rug anymore.  However, if we ever had any future stains with our rugs that cannot be cleaned, we wouldn't hesitate to contact Rich to take care of us.

Rich and Al came when they said they would, and took care of everything. They had provided me with instructions on how to prepare for the service, so were able to come and get started right away. I liked that I could correspond through email, as I'm on the phone a lot, and find email much easier to work into my schedule.

They were very careful with my belongings, and were great about moving and replacing furniture. After a day or so, I found there was an odor... kind of like something had soured. I called Rich, and he explained that it could happen if the AC wasn't kept on all the time like he had instructed. He also reassured me that the smell would go away, which it did. My family loves the and quot;new carpetand quot;!

After a few days i did find some places that didn't take the dye well. I emailed Rich and he said he'd be back as soon as he got into town. Rich and Al came back today and redid the areas of the carpet that had not taken the dye. They only took a few minutes, and it looks great!

Over all, I'm very pleased with the service and the professionalism of the team.

As anyone with a motorhome knows, the carpets fade and discolor very badly. We were provided with an estimate over the phone from Color Your Carpet. The final price was within the range quoted. They arrived promptly at the specified appointment time. After a brief discussion about what color I wanted, they mixed up a color that was exactly what I was looking for! They were done quickly and we are VERY happy with the results! My 10 year old RV carpet looks almost like new, for a fraction of what replacing it would have cost. I highly recommend Rich and Color Your Carpet!

I had multiple spots on my carpet that had been discolored. Some were bleach and others were from cosmetics. My carpet is expensive and new so replacing it was not an option. I found this company on the internet. They travel the state and schedule you when they have several jobs in the same area. I received a call the next day from Rich Randall. He explained how the process worked, that it was permanent and the spots would be gone. I would guess I had about 18-20 spots. Rich and his partner showed up exactly at 9AM as scheduled. They got to work right away and even located some spots that I had not noticed. They custom mix the dye to ensure a perfect color match and re-treat the spot as many times as necessary to achieve a perfect color match. All my spots are gone! They told me there is no problem cleaning the carpet, even right after they are done and work is warrantied. I did not know this was available prior to finding these guys. What a great service. They just saved me over $3000 of new carpet. And if they no longer make your carpet, this is the only solution. In addition they can re-dye entire carpets and custom spot dye patterned area rugs, such as Persians. The process does not work on olefin; nylon and wool are best. OMG, what a great service. I am Realtor and will be sending these guys lots of business!
