My home warranty company arranged for R & R to repair or replace my door opener as required.  The first visit was for troubleshooting and at that time I reminded him my door was taller and would require an 8 foot opener.  2 weeks later at the second visit a 7 foot universal opener was installed and I then pointed out then door now no longer fully opens and pointed out the manufactures instructions state "if installed on 8' door a extension kit is required" and noted same on the work-order . 2 weeks later they returned without the kit and were going to shim the opener a with a few 2x4's and I said were not going to go in that direction.
  The tech remarked that the door will not hit the car roofs and that should be good enough, I said NO, if you remove an 8' opener you install an 8" opener. He seemed upset that I was going to insist the repair was done correctly per the manufactures instructions.  2 weeks later I was told they had the extension and set an appointment.  They were a no show and when i called them they said the wrong kit was ordered and would reorder the correct kit.  6 weeks later the warranty company was told by R & R the repair was complete and seeking payment, but they have yet to contact me or install the required kit. 120 days have now passed and now the warranty company is looking for another repair company to complete the job.
