Maury Creech Electric

I am a retired commercial general contractor and a licensed Florida GC who recently built my personal home. I contracted with Maury Creech to do all of the electrical work for my new house based on complete engineered drawings. When I interviewed them, I explained the importance of working every day once they started until their work was completed. Their rough-in work started slow with two men on the job who worked from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm each day. When it was time to start trim out, I had a difficult time getting them back and had to place them on contractual notice to do so. Larry Creech told me that he had taken on more work than he had manpower to accomplish and other contractors were pushing him too. However, he never manned the project for more than 6 hours in a day and never worked on Saturday to try and catch up. In the end, he did not complete some of the work items and I found other items that he did incorrectly. For example, the drawings required a 100 amp panel for the pool equipment using a #3 wire in a 2” conduit. Instead he ran a 30 amp circuit using a #10 wire to a junction box with no conduit. I had to use another electrical contractor to correct that deficiency. He also omitted numerous 3 way switches shown on the drawings. Of all the subcontractors who worked on my house, Maury Electric is the only one that I would not be happy to work with again. I believe they would likely be fine for small electrical jobs, but are not resourced sufficiently to do complete home constructions. They also do not have the work ethic to go the extra mile to fulfill their obligations when they get over stretched.

Work was done professionally, very impressed. Also, their quote was reasonable for the work. By contrast, several electrical companies very highly rated on AngiesList for price quoted me almost 3x the labor cost for this work. I'm honestly shocked they rated so highly on price.

As far as price, I thought he was very fair for what he did. I think he was there for a couple of hours, I was there with him. He first had to track down to see what was causing the problem.The he took down the chandelier that was fried. It was just him that came out to complete the service. He was fine, everything was cleaned up when he was finished. He did not leave a mess, he cleaned up after himself. Also, to me, he was professional because when he came in on the carpet he had stuff on his feet to keep dirt from his shoes off.

This experience was one of the best!  I purchased a new home which needed some electrical work done.  Being a single female new to the area, the entire experience made me feel I was in good hands.  The previous owner did not install a plug for the built in microwave and the laundry dryer would not turn on.  I learned the dryer plug was an issue when I purchased a new unit and it too would not turn on.  I know electrical work can turn into a very involved process and be expensive.  The technician Jake was very professional, arrived at the scheduled time and calmed my fears.  What I thought would be a big job turned into something very simple and was reflected in the price.  I have already informed people of the excellent experience.  I will definitely use them again!

Went just fine. We had one problem with over cabinet lighting 'blowing' out immediately after install. They fixed and it did it again in 5 minutes. They said - Whoa. We will upgrade the equipment and this won't happen again. Did so promptly. We have not had any problems.

They come when called, perform their work, corrct our problems and appear professional in every way. We plan to use the for all our electrical needs.

It went well. Maury is personable, honest, and doesn't attempt to sell unnecessary services. I have been using him for years, and I have never been disappointed. He always responds quickly to my phone calls, arrives on time, and his rates are reasonable.

They did a good job. His prices are fair and he gave dependable service. He did what he said he would do and I would use them again.

Called and scheduled a service call for the following day - electrician arrived within the designated 2 hr window given at time of scheduling. Easily removed an old bathroom light fixture and installed the newly purchased one and then tackled a rather difficult job changing three white electrical outlets to black on a newly installed granite backsplash. I don't know the gentleman's name who did the work but he perservered when one of the outlets gave him a great deal of trouble - the new granite backsplash and the bar above it apparently altered the inside of the outlet opening in some fashion and he had to spend quite a bit of time chiseling away some wood and metal inside in order to make the box fit into the opening the granite fabricators had cut. He kept at it and finally succeeded - the new black "Decora" outlets blend with the granite much better than the original white ones and really enhance the appearance of the newly updated kitchen. A good job!

CHARGES$48 PER HR. TRIP FEE - ASK HIM. HES REALLY QUITE GOOD! IM VERY HAPPY WITH HIS WORK.
