"This job was done on 08/13/2013. The date shown here of 10/18/2017 is incorrect. Our phones are answered from 8 -4 weekdays and messages answered the rest of the time. I do not know why this customer could not get through. One of the benefits of the home warranty is that you can always call them directly to find out status. Compressors are normally purchased by the home warranty company and delivered to us for replacement. Some times this can take several days to a week. The good news is it saves the customer around $1500 deending on the compressor."
"Sorry for the problems this customer experienced last year with his service. We were called to service this customer by his home warranty company on Aug 18th of 2016. We responded and found that the unit was low on R-22 Freon due to a leak in the evaporator coil. The coil needed to be removed and repaired then reinstalled with 7 lbs of R-22 refrigerant. Since it was late in the day the customer said he would like to schedule this work for early the next week. We scheduled to do the work on 8/26. We had many appointments available before that but this was when the customer could be available. Customer was not available for this appointment and in fact made many other appointments that he would change leading up to us finally removing the evaporator coil on 9/6/2016. The customer told us that he would not pay for the R-22 refrigerant. Since his home warranty company contract clearly states that they only pay $10 per pound and R-22 refrigerant is $90 per pound it is his responsibility. $90 per pound is fair market price for this product which is very scarce as it is being phased out and production will be discontinued in 2020. Finally we were instructed to return the coil to Mr. [Member Name Removed] unrepaired by the home warranty company, There was never any issue of a theft report being issued. The coil was returned on 9/14/2016 8 days after it had been removed. While we try to provide great service to customers sent to us from a home warranty company we do have to follow guidelines of the warranty and must collect from the customer fees for costs not covered."
My Mom has been using Air Doctor for many years. She has them out twice a year to maintain her HVAC. The same guy usually; he charges $35. The day I called them for her, the A/C had stopped working. They offered to come out that same afternoon at a ridiculous upcharge. I said that the following day would be fine. The young man that showed up knew what it was right away (clogged drain line) and even told us that the Condo Association would suck the lines out for free. Then he proceeded to vacuum the line out, dumped some bleach in the drain and handed me a bill for $215. I was shocked! At least he had the decency to look embarrassed. At the very least, I should have been told what it was going to cost BEFORE the service was rendered. I certainly know how to turn on a shop vac and pour bleach in a drain. I would never have agreed to that price. Never. I'm not even sure this was legal. My Mom was very upset but she wrote him a check. After the young man left, I called the office and asked to speak to someone about my bill and explained what the problem was. The guy said that was the correct price and that it reflected my condo association discount! Ridiculous!! This is just bad business and everyone I've spoken to agrees. We will never use them again, ever!
"We were hired by your home warranty company (American home Shield) to diagnose and then subsequently repair the air conditioner. Once we relayed to them that it needed a compressor they buy it and deliver it to us. We have no control or influence over the availability of the part. We understand that this is very frustrating in the summer heat but it sure saves you money. As for mold forming in a non operating air conditioner this is not the case, When an ac is not operating no water is generated and therefore no mold forms."
