Sunburst Shutters

Sunburst Shutters is readily available while they're trying to sell their product. Try getting in contact with them afterwards, or if you have an issue. You won't get a response until they feel like responding, and it's likely that someone that doesn't even know the details of your order will contact you and get the information wrong. Shutters were scheduled to be installed, and they didn't show up with one shutter with no explanation. When I contacted the office trying to find out why, We had already paid for the shutter. I couldn't get a straight answer. The person I spoke to was confusing another set of windows in another bathroom that we decided to not get installed, and insisted that this was the correct information. It went on for over a week. And, I am the one that had to backtrack all the emails and messages to confirm that they were incorrect with their information. They put no effort whatsoever into resolving the issue. You will hear from several people who don't communicate with each other, if any of them will answer you at ALL. THEN, when I inquired about the additional two windows, I couldn't get anyone to contact me, so I am going to another company to complete them. I will NOT use them again, nor would I refer them to anyone else. I strongly recommend that you get your shutters elsewhere. Save yourself the aggravation.

These shutters show quality all the way.  The material, craftsmanship, show through and through.  I was impressed how the installer was meticulous in the installation, and exhibited a very positive attitude during this whole experience.  I am so pleased how smoothly this went and am already planning which window I'm installing shutters next.

Awesome! Last year we contracted with them for shutters in the master bedroom. We also had an idea for shutters on the sliding glass doors. Eric assured me this was something they often did. The price for that room was under another estimate so we had them do shutters on windows in 2 other bedrooms at that time. The quality and attention to detail in the 1st installation exceeded our expectations, and that's even after having seen work they did on a neighbor's home. Even after a year, we are so satisfied we decided to replace the silhouette shades and custom drapes on the remaining windows on the first level. The master bathroom window required some additional finesse in the framing due to the way the granite was installed. We have ivory carpeting and they even took off their shoes, which I explained was not necessary. Everything looks wonderful! If I had it to do over again, i would have gotten the plantation shutters rather than other window treatments from the beginning. They do amazing work.

We have been wanting to have plantation shutters installed for some time.  I happened upon the Sunburst Shutters office by chance one day and I am certainly glad I did!  I went in as they were closing and Julie was very accommodating and gave me a quick explanation of the shutters they had and set up an appointment for a salesman to come by my home.

The salesman did a great job showing options for plantation shutters.  I was able to get my shutters customized to open a specific way in different rooms as I had different needs in each room.  We ordered five sets of custom-made 3" white shutters. 

We were told it would be approximately 4 to 6 weeks for the shutters to be made and shipped back for installation.  We received a call three weeks later that the shutters were back and could be installed the next day.  What a great surprise!

On the day of installation, the installer was on time.  He had the shutters installed in approximately 1 1/2 hours and they look spectacular.  The shutters make the entire house look better.  I now can have light in my rooms without sacrificing privacy.  I love the shutters and had a great experience with this company.  Their prices were competitive, the staff are competent and professional, and the quality of the product is simply great.

I would recommend this company all day long!  Great job!  Great shutters!

Knowledgeable and courteous sales staff and installer. Both persons were on time for their appointments.

When Eric arrived for the appointment he was prepared, but was really important to me was his response when I mentioned I had some ideas from looking at photos and at some shutters of my neighbors. Rather than continuing with a canned presentation, he said, and quot;great, tell me about your ideas.and quot; Everything I wanted was do-able. But the best part was how he took the idea I had for replacing the vertical blinds based on a picture in a magazine and explained how he could use that to better conform to what I wanted on the windows! He offered some suggestions, that may have been basic for someone who deals with this type of product. However, we had what I considered a great discussion since he clearly understood my vision yet was ratcheting it up even better than I could have imagined.



Today the shutters were installed by Orrin. I was amazed that this young man was going to do the whole job himself. We chatted a bit getting acquainted while he worked on the first shutter for one of the bedrooms. He was composed, confident and definitely a lot of experience in working with cabinetry and shutters. Since this was a new product for me I asked a lot of questions, which he seemed happy to respond to. I finally told him I'd leave him to work without continuing to interrupt him. He encouraged me to stay and ask any questions I had.

Later, when he was doing the shutters over the sliding doors, he suggested an alteration to the baseboards rather than what Eric originally left instructions for. I certainly appreciate that in the midst of projects, things come up that weren't anticipated. Orrin's preferred solution was definitely the better option!

We are thrilled with the results. I expected the project to look wonderful, but the way the shutters on the sliding doors turned out, it far exceeds my expectations!

I've been with them for almost 2 years. They have excellent service. They're courteous and prompt. If they're not on time, they will call you and tell you a time limit. I just like them. One of the shutters that they put in cracked and were waiting for the, to put them back in. As far as I know, the colors are white or either ivory. I'm trying to make them do the service one room at a time. They do a good job. It takes them 6 weeks to build and bring the shutters. They clean up after themselves. I like them so well. One company's blinds were not near as good as Sunburst's. I feel like I'm getting a good quality product. They also have a lifetime warranty for their service.

Great. This is the Sunburst in Tampa not Orlando. Tom came out and really knew what he was designing. Mike the installer did a wonderful job. I would definitely use them again for plantation shutters or any window treatment.

Very professional. We finally found someone who is professional and knows what they are doing!. These people work with you and the final product is beautiful, fits perfectly and is the highest quality.

The installer, Robert Miller, arrived not merely on time but even ahead of schedule. He was meticulous in measuring everything and went beyond what I was told he would do to accommodate me in removing the old window treatment. He then measured every little piece of the framework to make sure that the angles met and looked good. He made many steps up and down the stairs in my house to saw pieces to make them fit correctly, so I am sure he got his cardio workout that day. (These were bypass plantation shutters for sliding glass doors in my master bedroom.) Not wasting any time, he finished the job in around 75 minutes, despite countless trips up and down to cut off fractions of an inch to make things fit. I am quite happy with my shutters, which allow me to let in light from the top half while giving the privacy of a closed half when I so desire.

We've lived in the same house for many years and little by little we've had plantation shutters installed on every window of our house. After all these years and 5 different shutter companies, I consider myself a seasoned critic. Hands down, the best plantation shutters are the Polywood from Sunburst. The salesman measured, went over all the options and I gave him a 50% deposit. Our job was small so they called me in just 4 weeks to set up installation. The installer was prompt, courteous and did a terrific job. They look excellent and we couldn't be happier. The Polywood is wonderful for the kitchen because they can be wiped with a damp cloth without warping or paint peeling, yet they don't look like the old PVC type shutter. Another thing I really appreciate about Sunburst is they were capable of doing an inside mount even though our house is old and the windows are not perfectly square. (To my regret I had another shutter company convince me to do outside mount shutters in 3 bedrooms because the windows weren't perfect. Looking back, I'm sure it was just much easier for them.)

We ordered Sunburst Shutters through the Lowe's on Dale Mabry. The follow-up and attention to detail from both Sunburst Shutters and Lowe's was very impressive. The young man that installed the shutters was extremely careful, efficient - ethical and honest. He asked me to come into my office to look at something - it was a fist-sized hole in the wall. He wanted to know if the hole was there already or if he did it without realizing it. The hole was already there - wow - what ethics and honesty in that young man! I was extremely impressed!

They did a fine job.

The sales rep Jason Engels was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. The receptionist was fabulous. He came out and did the estimate and brought samples etc. The shutters are custom so it took a very long time (months) for them to be completed. I was disappointed when they put them in because after the amount of money I spent on them they were not flawless. They had marks and gouges on them. The man that installed them tried to fix them. I had to have them come out 2 more times to fix gouges and or marks. They still are not perfect but we love them! One of the times they were supposed to come out they no call no showed.

Neighbors were very impressed! They had to stop by and come in to see them!
