I hired them to clean my chimney but when they came, they determined that repair work would have to be completed first before the fireplace could be used. There was no reason to even start the cleaning process. While I appreciate the company's professionalism I was shocked at the $80 service call that lasted less than 10 minutes and no work was completed. I understand a service charge, but felt the $80 was excessive.

I used other services before and all they do is vacuum vent line. They will not clean the dryer or check out vent line in attic or exit on roof. 5 Star does all. Saves you from having to call out appliance service to clean the dryer.

Gave us a quote over the phone.  Arrived on time and was very, very thorough in preparing the area and covering everything so non of the soot would get on the cream carpet.  Even wore shoe covers.
Gave us a written condition report after all done.  Very nice job!

It was fine. He is very knowledgeable about the dryer vent and how to do it. He just doesn’t come in and not talk to the consumer. He arrives and he looks in the dryer with us and shows us where the issues are. He gets up there and gets on top of the roof and takes care of things. He is very efficient. He communicates well with the consumer. He gives advice about how to lower our energy bill and how the piping from the dryer should go into the wall; that's what I really like about him. He recommended that I get those little spiky balls that we put in with our clothes in the dryer and it cuts our drying time. I bought them and it does. He is very consumer friendly. He just doesn’t come and do the job. He talks to us about how to lower our energy bills and reduce potential fire. His pricing has gone up considerably. I researched him and I see everything from Groupon to specials for dryer vent cleaning that are less, but less maybe by $20-$25. But I also know that he does extensive service. I have used him before, and I am comfortable with him and I am willing to pay a little bit more. I would say that his price is a little bit high, but it's worth it considering what he is doing. With regard to punctuality, he was about fifteen minutes late, but he is an independent businessman and he came from another job, so that wasn’t a big deal. I would absolutely use him again in the future.

He arrived promptly following a phone call to let me know he was on his way. I wish more companies would do this. He was methodical and explained everything he was doing and what he had found.

I received A++ service from 5 Star Clean's initial call back to the completion of the job.  All potential costs were quoted up front and were not exceeded by even a penny.  Despite the thoroughness of the service, it was done quickly, quitely and very neatly with the technician cleaning up the work site completely.  I also was very gratified to see the owner's attention to safety and to protecting himself from the airborn by-products of the cleaning.  In addition, he was extremely courteous.

Rob has been cleaning my dryer vent and chimney for several years now. We have the worst set-up for the dryer vent in our house. It twists and turns and goes up through the roof. This makes for lint clogs galore. I am always scared of a lint fire. I always know it's time for Rob to come when the clothes and towels won't dry. Rob now set it up that he contacts us on a regular basis (I set up the time interval of 1 1/2 years) so I won't forget that it's time for the dryer vent to get cleaned. He does a thorough job. He has this huge vacuum thing that sucks the lint from the roof and dryer downstairs, as well as takes apart all of the necessary parts of the dryer and cleans that out, too. Every time he comes, it is such a pleasure to do laundry afterwards (you read that right) because it takes so much less time to dry. I am sure it must save on my energy bill afterwards. I also have Rob clean our chimney every few years (we only use the fireplace about twice a year). He also does a great job on the chimney, as well. He drapes everything off so that soot will not get in the house, and cleans up after himself. You can't tell that the chimney has been swept after he has left because there is no residue anywhere. He is friendly and will work around your schedule. I highly recommend him. He also gives you tips on how to keep your dryer from building up lint and ways to prevent problems.
