Rob came to my home with the intention of cleaning the chimney and replacing the fire bricks of the fire box that had disintegrated. Unfortunately, once he began removing the old fire bricks he discovered that there were issues with the casing of the fire box. After further investigation Rob discovered that the fire box had actually rusted out on the bottom. Rob explained that it probably occurred sometime ago and it just took the fire brick some time to also break down. I greatly appreciated that he didn't just try to go ahead and install the new fire brick but instead explained that it would be impossible to repair the fire box and it would be much more safe to just remove the fire box and install a new one. He also noted he did not do that kind of work but recommended a couple of vendors to contact. I highly recommend them for either fireplace or dryer duct cleaning.

Did a nice job

Rob Meehan (the owner) was my service technician. He took the time to explain everything he was going to do and why. I ended up needing more work than originally anticipated but he did not force the issue. He provided me with some alternatives and I chose to let him do the extra work. My wife and I were both pleased and impressed with what we learned about our fireplace in particular and fireplaces and chimneys in general. We also have four cats to pay attention to and Rob was as concerned as we were to keep them out of harms way.
