TruGreen Lawn Care - 5982

I spoke with a salesman named frank from the Ocala Fl branch. I was told I could pay monthly for the lawn service and would be billed the following week before they came out. the next day I was charged two separate charges equaling up to almost a thousand dollars. I canceled the account and asked for my money back and was told it would be refunded right away and how sorry they were..smh. That was on the 23rd of August and each time I call I get a different answer as to why my money has not been returned. First it was I would get it right away then it was 3 to 5 days then 5 to 7 days then 7 to 10 days and the last person I spoke with told me maybe I should get my lawyer involved because I was so upset and frustrated. This has affected me paying my mortgage and its like they dont even care also none of the reps could connect me with a supervisor or give me the number or information to the corporate office. I have never been so frustrated before in my life.

They very professional and do their job very well.

We had our first treatment of outside spray that went 2 feet high around the entire perimeter of the House.

Pretty good. I would say my particular, Justin Monier, has been fantastic. I would say I think we've had them for a few years now, and we've had pretty good service from them throughout. Justin has been their front man for me so that's why I bring that up. I have them ongoing. I still use them. I still have a contract with them. They come out a few times a year. I pay time by time and they bill me. I would say their response is why I would recommend them to a family member or a friend.

TruGreen seems to do a good job. They out two days ago. They did a fine job. They come out on an annual basis.

It's an ongoing service year round. They don't do a particularly good job of weed prevention. They charge too much. I think it's about $700 a year. Nothing stands out. It's not particularly good, but, what else is available out there? I've never found one that is particularly good. They need to improve their services overall, they need to take more time. They were charging about $75 per call and they do the call in about 10 to 15 minutes, maximum. They're pretty responsive. They set up their own schedule.

We have two lawns. We're very unhappy with them. We cancelled it. They showed up but they're not letting us know they're there. I would tell friends not to call them. They should have done what they said they're going to do.

A few days after treatment the bushes, hibiscus, Mexican petunias and other woody garden plants went into shock and started dying back.  When Scotts came out to do the lawn, I showed them the problem and was told a manager would contact me and look into it. I never heard anything. Three weeks later I called and left a message with my number to have someone call me.  The next morning the Scotts truck pulled up and started applying something to the flower beds.  I went out and stopped them explaining that a manager was suppose to contact me and I didn't want more of something put on the beds when I already had a problem.  I showed him the dead areas and also my neighbor's flower bed with the same plants in healthy condition. We both water 2x week and get the same rainfall. That evening a call was placed to a different number than the one I left resulting in them talking to my father 5 states away. They told him that we were in a draught and the problem was due to lack of watering.  He told them they needed to talk to me as I was living in the house. We have been getting rain here at least 3x week and often more as we are in the RAINY season in addition to automatic full lawn irrigation 2x week and my spot watering on any days that it isn't raining as needed. 

I placed a third call the following Monday and left a message with no response.  I place a fourth call on Wednesday with my number.

Service response is TERRIBLE and worse yet they tried to blame it on fictitious weather conditions. They thought they could use the weather excuse because my father is a snowbird and wouldn't be around to tell them otherwise. FALSE excuses and no service response.   

 I would definitely not recommend this particular Scotts office.

My frustrating experience with this company began with a knock at my door one morning.  It was a TruGreen salesman.  This was odd because I live in a neighborhood that is clearly posted as "No Soliciting" at the front entrance, making it a violation of county ordinance (illegal) to conduct door to door sales.  I let the guy give his presentation and did agree to a treatment, as my lawn had suffered during the winter months.  The service person came by a few days later, arriving as I sat in my car in the driveway preparing to drive to work.  As he walked around the back of the truck, he looked directly at me.  I found it odd that he was coming to a customer's house for the first time, yet he didn't introduce himself, wave, smile, nod, or acknowledge me in any way.  He literally didn't even change expression, appearing to be slightly annoyed for some unknown reason, almost like he resented being there.  He did not come off during that first impression as a friendly worker that enjoyed his job.  Not the best impression for a company that is supposed to have a partnership with it's customers in order to adapt to their lawn care needs.
I eventually left without the service person having said one word to me.  After the first treatment, most of the lawn turned brown.  I'm sure I had a lot of weeds, so that could have partially explained that.  
Ok, so what had happened to this point was mildly annoying, but not a deal breaker.  My next contact with this company was at the end of the week, when they called me on a Saturday to sell me some kind of tree treatment.  The thing that is most annoying about this company is their marketing tactics.  What they will do is give you a drawn out explanation of why a treatment is absolutely necessary.  They then, instead of asking if you want the extra service (at an additional cost, of course), they tell you they will go ahead and schedule it for you.  Why they are assuming people will be automatically sold on their product, I don't know, but it's very frustrating that they tell you how you're going to spend your money.  
Price had not been talked about to that point, so I asked how much more it would be.  The cost of this add-on treatment was half again as much as the all in one I had already agreed to.  I told the salesperson I was not interested in the significant extra cost. She asked me if I was familiar with some fungus that was occurring in my area.  I told her I wasn't interested at that time.  When she would not take no for an answer (meaning she would not let me decide how to spend my money), I finally had to hang up on her.  I decided I was not comfortable with this company's sales and marketing tactics in being high pressure and always going for the up-sell.  
I called this company on a Monday and explained I wanted to cancel my month to month service.  The person I spoke to wanted an explanation of why I wanted to cancel, so I humored her with my experience from above.  She then told me they would be out in short order to retreat my lawn and they could discount my service.  I told her again that I wanted to cancel.  She offered even more discounts, but I didn't budge.  She then asked if there was any way to keep my business, and I told her there wasn't.  She then told me she would cancel my service.
I received a call a couple days later from a supervisor of some kind.  He wanted to know what the issues were so I explained everything all over again.  He apologized and said they would send someone out to retreat.  Just like every TruGreen employee before him, he was telling me what I wanted without asking me what I wanted.  I reiterated that I did not want their service, period.
Since that time, I have received several calls from this company, trying to get me back as a customer.  Most of the calls are later in the evening.  Each time, I tell them I am absolutely not interested and to take my number out of their system and not call anymore. The calls continue.
I have since seen horror stories about this company online, many relating to receiving endless calls after canceling service.  I would never recommend anyone deal with this company.

I have used them for eight years.  I am satisfied with them.

They are reasonable to deal with. They come out when they say they will. If there is a problem they will correct it immediately.

We had started using Trugreen in March of 2013.  They had a special deal for new customers.  Seven applications for $62.10 each application.  You get one application free, so you really only pay for 6.  I can't begin to tell you what a huge difference it has made in our lawn.  I really see no weeds at all. After only three treatments our lawn really does look beautiful.  The lawn techs are very knowledgable and very nice.  They really know what they are doing.    Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I pay by the month whenever I want it done. I don't have a contract. I don't have any problems. The price is good; it is fair.

Satisfied with the lawn service which we have used for 3 years.

We just had a $20,000 lawn of St. Augustine grass completed at our home. We had heard the horror stories about how difficult it was to maintain the grass and wanted to make sure out investment would stay green and lush. So while the work was being completed, we called and had our lawn service/treatment contract initiated and paid for a full year of service in advance. When the grass had properly taken root, we called to have the service initiated. This was approximately four weeks later. The lawn was beautiful. We requested notice so we may be present for the first application. This was the start of our problems. We received the phone call after the service was completed. Immediately after the service, we noticed the technician had burned the grass along the shrubs and other areas of the lawn. You could actually see the path of the application of the chemicals as it was burnt in the pattern the technician walked the grass.  He also killed our flowers and ivy as he sprayed those and they were not supposed to be treated at all.  We called for a supervisor to come see the damage and we also took pictures.  The supervisor was out of town so we were transferred to the supervisor's supervisor.  He then told us the flowers were killed from over spray from treating the sago palms.  This was untrue as the sago palms were several feet from the flowers and the burn pattern suggested he sprayed the middle of the flower directly as the outside of the flower was still alive.  We also pointed out yellow patches of grass forming and fungus growing in some areas.  We were informed the grass was turning yellow from our dog's urine and the mold was from too much water.  He recommended treating with a fungicide and nitrogen and would send a technician to perform the service.  He also recommended we reduce our watering schedule.  So we called the irrigation company to do so.  While the irrigation owner was there to adjust the irrigation system, he found worms in the back yard eating the grass.  The following day we again called TruGreen to complain as the service requested by the supervisor's supervisor was never completed and we discovered a new problem; worms.  TruGreen again said they would send a technician to perform the lawn care.  We received a note from a lawn technician named Terry stating he completed a nitrogen treatment, an insecticide treatment, and a herbicide treatment.  The note also said TruGreen would return again in five to seven days.  The grass continued to worsen.  On the seventh day, we called Florida Pest Control for an evaluation as we still had not received a return visit from TruGreen and the once lovely grass was now destroyed.  Florida Pest Control informed us it will probably take two months to correct the problem and we may still have to replace some of the sod.  From July 08,2012 to August 16, 2012 TruGreen ensured our yard to be TruBrown for months to come.  I would never recommend this company.  If you use this company I would do a complete inspection of your yard every week and act quickly when problems arise as it only took 39 days to completely damage ours lawn despite actively seeking fulfillment of their "healthy lawn guarantee."

He did pretty good work and he cleaned up the yard. He is pretty competitively priced. He is always on time and very professional.

The service is effective. They call when they are going to come out and come when they say. They have done a very good job with what we wanted. They maximize what they can do for what we can afford.
