After 5 months project is still not finished.  We cannot get proper answers on how AC is to be installed, making us wonder what he has messed up. Problems started because contractor was clueless on permit requirement for septic tank inspection, which has been State requirement for 10 years.  As Owner,I had to call and square things away with County. And my husband had to fix contractors energy calculations when they claimed we needed to place AC IN the small room to meet code, even though it is standard practice to put it in the attic. Fortunately we were watching his subcontractor because our inspection turned up problems with the form work that would have required the concrete pour to be jack hammered out. This Contractor was given simple instructions to enclose a porch that already had a roof and 2 walls and to match existing windows, doors, floors, etc., so addition did not look like after thought.  After 4 months he came to us with alternates because  he realized that matching items were not stock and it would further delay project. Right now, after 5 months, we are sitting with framed room waiting for contractor to finish what should have been a simple room enclosure.
