Karsun Decorative Concrete

After we gave the contractor the requested deposits, he did not show up on the day and time agreed upon. He did not communicate with us and he did not respond to several attempts to reach him by phone or text messages. After several days without contact, he finally showed up, unannounced. He gave several excuses that he was sick, and that his telephone was not working, and that his truck broke down, and that the paint for the job fell off his truck. He stated that he spent most of the $400 materials deposit on treatment of his illness and he asked that we buy the necessary materials so that he could complete the job. After we did so, there were additional times when he promised to show up for work and he didn?t show and he didn?t even notify us. After several weeks, only the garage floor was painted (poorly) and the lanai was just half-completed. Our lanai had been construction site for more than 6 weeks. The driveway was not started. He did not respond to telephone calls or text messages. I was eventually able to reach his father and his lawyer who told me that he had recently landed in jail.  Now I have to call another contractor to complete the unfinished work.  This person still owes me money for the deposit for the work that he agreed to do and which was not completed.  I do not have much hope that I will ever recover the money that is owed to me.
