Allowing for the July 4 holiday, I stopped by on Monday, July 8, to make sure everything was received and set up. I brought all the paperwork and documentation that I had. When we walked in, it appeared as if they has just moved in and there were patient files stacked everywhere. I introduced myself, told them I was a former customer of American Home Patient and that I had left AHP because I could not get my supplies ( filters, mask cushions, etc ) in a timely manner. I explained that it is critical that filters and such be replaced on one, three, or six month schedules, depending on the specific item to avoid performance and or health issues. I also explained that AHP was unable to do so despite my attempts to help them. It was so bad that CareCentrix suggested I call in for my own pre-authorizations in the week BEFORE I ordered so that when I did order, they had the authorization already faxed to them. Even after doing that, I still had to have CareCentrix intervene. I received my CPAP in November 2012 and with all the BS, it was the middle of June before I could get my scheduled 6 month replacement supplies. In 8 months, I was already behind 2. CareCentrix and I decided to try Home Respiratory Solutions. We waited for my 6 month supplies to get in, and tried to start the ball rolling with HRS so that I lost as little time possible. Home Respiratory Solutions had no idea who I was. No record. no nothing. That is, untill they checked the fax machine. Found the fax from July 2, they did. No problem, they said. They made copies of everything I had, said they would follow up with AHP and my doctor, and I should be able to order from them on their 800 number next month. I called in August to order supplies. Yeahrightsure. They don't know who I am nor can I get my supplies. I go to the local office, and they had forgotten to get some paperwork or another. Apologies and they give me supplies from the office stash with assurances that NEXT month, I should be able to order. OK. So......September 16, I call. By September 27, I still have no supplies, so I call again and am told they haven't gotten authorization. And it can take 7-10 days. I then call CareCentrix, have them fax the authorization immediately. ( CareCentrix doesn't understand why HRS doesn't have the auths because they were sent 3 month auth for my supplies LAST month. Whatever, we will fax them again ) And I still don't get them until October 2. Now it is November 12. I called in on October 30. I had CareCentrix fax the Auth again when I called. And I still don't have my supplies. I am going on 6 weeks, breathing for 8 hours a day through a filter that is supposed to be changed every 30 days. Using a cushion that is failing, and forcing air over my eyes and drying them out. Every month I am gaining time in a 30 day cycle, when I am allowed to get AND am getting my own authorizations done a week ahead of replacement schedules. I am thoroughly disgusted.
Description of Work: After lousy service from my previous provider of CPAP equipment and supplies, my insurance company contacted Home Respiratory services, by fax, to set me up with them. This was on July 2, 2013.
