Called Family's Choice Electrical Repair to fix a lamppost that had stopped working. they arrived as scheduled (after several others declined the job for one reason or another) which was appreciated, but pricing presented by their electrician was unclear and the troubleshooting he performed only confirmed the problem was exactly what i had told him before any troubleshooting had started... $500... then additional $1500 for lamppost repair... $2k just seems an extremely high cost for the job. I acknowledge trenching a new line was not easy & took time, but the price charged seems very high. $200 of troubleshoot fee was applied to repair cost ($1500 was after discount!); think they should have at least applied entire $500 to repair cost... when i asked for an additional discount, i was told they couldn't go any lower with the charges... really??? They got the job done, but wouldn't recommend them because of their pricing; especially not to seniors on a fixed budget. Advise getting quotes from other electricians.

Things went generally well. They are very nice men, very polite and he was willing to explain everything that he did. The only thing, I misunderstood the advertisement because it said service and 7-point checkup. I didn't understand that 7-point check up. I showed him a light fixture in one of the bedrooms that was turning off and on by itself and my husband and I couldn't figure out what it was. He was able to figure it out. One of those newer type long term bulbs was going bad. It just didn't go out like the regular bulbs and just stop working, it was going bad so it slowly goes bad. So it would go off and on slowly before it finally goes bad. He was able to figure that out and he told me to change the light bulb and it solved the problem. He charged me for it besides what I had already paid online. So I didn't know that that's what was going to happen. It was just one light fixture and he charged me $89 for that. I thought that was a bit outrageous because there was nothing wrong with it to begin with. He was very good at explaining everything he did. He was very professional but as far as price I was not impressed.

The Owner came and did some wiring and replaced some connectors. It's working fine.
He spent about 1 hour and told me there was no charge for this service.
How many other Companies would do that?
I don't believe there would be very many.
I would use this CO. again, if I ever need electrical work done.
They do good work and they are honest.

"We are sorry how the wording got placed on the add, we have had people also think the $29 fee was for work when there was 5-6hrs of work...we are working with Angies to try to figure if they can reword it better.. as far as the $99 that covers the 9v batteries and we do not buy store brand type, resetting any smoke detectors that needed reset, and the electricians time there.."

He arrived, examined the outlet and switch and the electric box. Then made the necessary repairs. He was done within the hour.

I was very excited to have them in my home because they were so professional. He fixed the problem quickly and didn't try to sell me on items I didn't need. He did such a great job, I'm going to have him back out for additional work.

It went very well. They are very nice people, they’re very professional, and they know what they’re doing. I intend on using them in the future. It is an excellent company. I never met people, especially guys, that are so nice. Their prices are very reasonable. I need more work done so I’ll be calling them soon.

They were very prompt and very professional. They were quick to respond and we’ve used them many, many times. He came right out and fixed it. I would recommend him to anyone and he is cheaper than anybody else. He does an excellent job.
