We purchased a new stove and had measurements made by someone from the company that sold us the appliance.  They indicated that the new stove would fit just fine in the cabinet area for a slide-in.  When the stove was delivered, it was too large for the cabinet space (width and depth).  That happened on the Friday before Thanksgiving and we had company arriving on Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving.  The carpenter who was usually recommended by the company who sold the appliance was totally unavailable for us.  We panicked and started looking for someone who could do this immediatally and obtained a business card of a former neighbor who had moved out of state for a few years and had returned.  We called him on a Sunday and, out of kindness, he came over the same day and evaluated the problem.  He measured repeatedly and finally looked at us and said, "I can do this!"  We needed about an extra 3" width,as the space was very tight, and all three sides of the countertop required work to accommodate the space to the new stove from the drop-in stove we were removing.  We asked when he could do the work and he said he could be at our home at 9 AM on Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  He showed up on time with everything he needed and started working immediately.  I left for about 3 1/2 hours and when I returned, the job was done and everything was cleaned up.  He asked about our old stove and I said we would move it to the garage until we could get it hauled off.  He said he could help us with that, but wanted me to know that he would be paid $20 for it.  The honesty was amazing.  I was startled by that level of integrity, as was my husband.  That saved us a headache getting rid of the old appliance and we plan to have him do more work for us as we begin to update our home.  I can highly recommend EML Carpentry, LLC (Eric M.
