From start to finish we were very well informed of the product, the process, price, and schedule. Absolutely no surprises and every aspect was completed as promised. We had a whole house, over 1600 sq ft to do including kitchen. I want to stress that I personally have installed hard wood flooring and laminate on several occasions and can appreciate the scope of work and difficulty of the labor involved. Jeff, our lead installer, was very professional and when faced with a short crew did not let it alter his schedule of 4 days to complete the installation. We are very pleased with the final product and would highly recommend East Coast Flooring (and already have) to other homeowners in the market for flooring. We visited more than 10 flooring stores before deciding on East Coast Flooring. A++++

Great!!!! The installers were professional, considerate and knowledgeable with the product and installation prep. Kudoos!!! to your employees....from the East Coast rep to the installers and anyone in-between....we are very pleased with our new floor. Compliments already from our neighbors. What a difference a "floor" makes. Thank you again.

From start to finish, every person related to this company left a very positive impression. All were extremely thorough and know the value of customer service. We were very pleasantly surprised to work with a company that bent over backwards to make sure everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this team of professionals. Also, their showroom is pretty comprehensive. Lots opf samples to choose from and then some!

I am delighted with the flooring and installation I purchased at East Coast Flooring. You might even say I was "tickled pink" with the results. The sales personnel were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The installers were "top notch" and exceptionally skilled in laying out the flooring. Should I need additional flooring, I would definitely chose East Coast Flooring on 441!

We hired East Coast Flooring to replace the carpet in all three bedrooms (with porcelain plank tile) shortly after purchasing our home. Since we were moving to this area from south Florida, we postponed our move by two weeks in order to allow them time to install the tile while the house was empty. We were also VERY SPECIFIC about NOT wanting any kind of "transition strip" in the bedroom thresholds between the old ceramic tile and the new porcelain tile. We only wanted a single (thin) grout line!!! Our salesman assured us he would pass that information onto his installer. Unfortunately, if you look at PHOTOS #1 and #2 (included with this review) you'll see THAT obviously NEVER happened! The subject of "thresholds" was never mentioned again by our salesman at East Coast during any following phone conversations. We trusted him to look after our best interests in our absence. So you can only imagine the shock we received when we pulled up with the moving van and went inside to take a look at our new porcelain tile. Needless to say, we were absolutely devastated - especially after paying over $10,000. to have this tile installed. Their lame excuse (after the fact) for using a narrow "transition strip" in the thresholds was because there was a very slight difference in height between the old tile and the new tile - but - if you look at PHOTO #3 (third bedroom threshold) you'll see that obviously was NOT the case - go figure ?? They didn't even use a SOLID transition strip on any of the thresholds - just pieced several strips together instead. With that said, we got a second opinion from another professional tile installer (who later did an awesome job using the same tile on our master shower). He was appalled at how the thresholds were done. He stated the obvious . . . the original installer started at the back of the room and worked towards the door (plain and simply) because it was easier. Buyers beware !!

We called and then visited the store. Tony in the store was a nice and helpful. We selected possible tiles and carpet and scheduled a home visit for measurements, etc. The home visits are given a 2-hour window, and the estimator arrived in the earlier part of the window, so no complaints there. As the guy worked his way through the house, we asked him a few questions. He appeared distracted or annoyed so we decided to wait until he was done. While he was working though, my husband and I were discussing various tiles and carpets and floor stores and expressing opinions. He stopped what he was doing several times to correct us or make other comments on what we were discussing between us. I finally told him that we had done quite a bit of research on the firms we were getting estimates from and researched reviews on the products. He told me anybody can get good reviews written up on anything they want and we shouldn't go by that. Still trying to be polite, I told him we had checked Angie's List and Home Advisor for all the firms. He continued to be argumentative in discussions, whether or not he was party to the conversations. My husband tried to ask him where in the house they would start installation and when we should disconnect our electronics, and the guy gave him a snarky lecture on understanding that this was a major construction project and we needed to accept there would be some inconvenience. We have measured the house ourselves and have had other estimates done. the square footage he estimated for both the tile areas and the carpet areas was high. When I tried to ask him a question on the estimate, he told me I would have to wait until he got to the end, that he didn't answer questions until he gets to the end and presents the total. Yet again trying to be polite, I waited until he was done, then mentioned I had a question on the square footage. Since he had been so condescending the whole time he'd been in the house, I tried to explain my question by telling him I am qualified to make these measurements and why, as is my husband, and that we also have had other estimates, which he already knew. I didn't even get a full statement out of my mouth before he yelled at me (yes yelled) that he is a licensed contactor with 20 years experience (which actually puts him 40 years behind mine and my husband's combined experience) and that "we're done here". Then he got his stuff together in a huff and left. He never did answer my question, and he did not leave the estimate with us. I called East Coast and they told me that this person is actually their installation manager. The person I spoke with there said the issue will be relayed to their owner.

They are professional and follow through on their promises.  We had a few spots where the glue was not removed. They sent Darryl over immediately to clean those areas.

scheduled date was Friday 3/27/15. Although no specific time was advised I assumed they would show up in the morning. They arrived and started 12.45. That's the bad news.,tony the leadman and his two crewmen went right to work and from start to finish they were cordial, and worked in a very professional manner. They placed felt sliders I provided under my furniture and moved back to original location. Tony was very response to my questions. Cleanup was very good. I would use them again and would recommend to my friends and neighbors. If any problems arise I feel sure they will taken care of in a timely manner.

The job went fairly well.  There was a team of three who did the installing.  Not entirely pleased with the initial install process but end result was good.
While some leveling was done, I believe more should have been done since I can feel minor giving of the floor in certain areas. But it is possible that they are within the given tolerances.
Not entirely sure that the underlayment was properly installed.  Overlap should exist to prevent moisture from coming in contact with the flooring which would cause damage.  Carelessness on the part of one of the installers resulted in foil being ripped at many different locations and the potential lack of proper sealing of seams exist.  He made no effort to seal it with tape.
Spacers between the wall and flooring not only act as a spacer but also provides firmness to allow boards/joints to be snugged up with some gentle taps.  Failure to use spacers caused sliding of flooring and minor gaps in some joints.  (These were subsequently fixed by follow up visits).
On the plus side:
1.  The installers moved all the furniture (excluding equipment) and placed felt pads (provided by owner) on the bottom of all furniture before they were placed back onto the new floors.
2.  They also trimmed the bottom of a couple doors to allow for proper space to clear the new flooring (Note:  I had to request this specifically when I purchased the flooring otherwise I would have been charged extra for it.).
3.  They also removed all the base boards, cleaned them up and repainted them before they replaced them.  This allowed for the baseboard to sit on top of the flooring giving it a much more professional and finished look (Note:  Unfortunately, I think they use a cheaper quality of paint than I had used.  The finish was not as glossy and white.  It looked duller).
The team leader returned three times to resolve issues and all were resolved to my satisfaction.
Overall, I'm pleased with the final results.  The floors look great.
In reference to my rating on quality, the quality of flooring is excellent.  The rating only comes down because of the work performed by one of the installers which caused the majority of the issues/concerns mentioned above.
In reference to my rating on professionalism, the professionalism of the team leader was excellent.  The professionalism of the other installer left a lot to be desired.  It is my belief that a true professional would care about the entire process starting with the proper installation of the underlayment and then using the appropriate tools to install the flooring.  To be clear, there was nothing wrong with how any of the installers interacted with me.  They were kind and polite.  There was only the concern on how the one installer performed his job.
Recommendation:  No matter who you have install flooring, ask ahead of time and upon arrival to do the job (1) how they are going to determine if leveling is required, (2) how they install the underlayment to ensure proper seal between all joints and (3) if any trim work needs to be done on the bottom of the doors that it be included within the price.

This company is amazing.  Their products are top quality, their craftmanship is top quality, and working with them is just a pleasure.  They gave us the best estimate for what we wanted and installed our flooring with total professionalism.  We had a good deal of square footage done, so it took several days, and the installers were on time and worked non-stop every day.  I would highly recommend this company.  We plan to have additional flooring installed by them in the near future.

The sale process was thorough and professional; samples were available to take home; products were top of the line. The owner (Thomas) came to the house to take measurements and explain the installation and warranties to us. He was in our home for 3 hours and did a thorough job of explaining how it would all go down.  We took 3 other estimates; EC Floors was not the lowest price but stressed quality of product, installation and after market support.  The install team (Tony and 2 others) cam to our home on the date promised and finished on the date/time promised.  The team  was professional and very personable. They worked non-stop, were careful in all areas of their work (Moving heavy furniture around the house).  They cleaned up each day and on the final day.  They were polite, very courteous and very particular about each aspect of the installation?. they finished all promised work and went beyond that on the final day covering up (very few) scratches with our spare paint.  What could have been a stressful experience was, instead, a very comfortable one b/c the team was both attentive to detail and light spirited?. talking to us throughout the entire install.  I would HIGHLY recommend East Coast Flooring to anyone within the Ocala and surrounding areas. You will enjoy the experience and the final product.

I called to make an appt and was told that it would take one and half to two hours.  When my call was returned, I was told that they needed to call back later to make an appt.  When I did talk to them, I told them everything that I wanted, I was very specific. We set an appt that was to take an hour.  I was running late and called to let them know that I would be there by 315(appt was for 3) and I was told that the guy was already at his next appt, down the road.  I was told that much testing was needed and because of the type of flooring I wanted, more time was needed.  He assumed that I wanted something that I actually did not want.  When he realized what I wanted, he then had a condescending attitude and asked me why I would want to have a floating floor.  We made arrangements for someone to come the next day. I was called an hour before my appt time and was told that the owner suggested that I come to the store first and pick my selection.  Then, they will come and give an estimate.  I told them I knew exactly what I wanted and was still refused the estimate.  In the beginning of my dealings with them, they assumed I lived in the villages and  I am wondering if they just  to like to stay in that area.  I originally called them because of the great reviews they were given.  Given their mannerisms on the phone and customer service, I am surprised.

Went extremely well. Salesman called on us measured the area to be done He shows us samples of products for us to look at. These samples were selected from a previous telephone interview so they were already prepared with things we said we wanted in flooring they were very concerned that we would be happy with the product After selecting a product the salesman remeasured, explained all associated costs and provided us with a written breakdown of these costs. He even steered us away from woods he new we'd be unhappy with due to the required ongoing cleaning required. Installation crew showed up on the agreed upon date, were very professional and efficient. Installation & clean up were all done in one day as expected. The installation team placed felt protectors on all of our furniture and cleaned up after themselves.

Impressive!  The folks who run East Coast Flooring are personable, helpful and attentive to detail.  The company installed handsome oak  laminate in four large rooms and two smaller ones.  The members of the four-man crew are punctual, pleasant, polite and obviously experienced.  The job was completed in two days, and except for a lunch break each day they seemed to be in constant motion.  The results are very pleasing, indeed.
Would I recommend them?  Without hesitation!
Would I use them again?  I've already scheduled East Coast to place tile in the kitchen and two bathrooms.
Two thumbs up and a big grin from this customer.

The job went well.  They were professional and got the work done fast.  They also cleaned up well and helped with putting our furniture back in place.  The only negative was that it was six weeks from estimate to installation because they were so busy, but it was definitely worth the wait since they did such a great job.

No bait and switch adds, we went to 6 different companies and all of them had adds that seemed great until you saw the limited selection at the sale price. The other compaies all used sub-contractors for installation and they quoted prices that differed from the store. At East Coast everything was clearly priced and the price included all services. Samples could be taken home and the owner did the measurements. The installers were very professional and offered good advice on care of our new floors 1200 sq feet of laminate floor.

The owner gave us what we felt was an accurate measurement and estimate. He was professional. He offered suggestions. The installers and the person stretching the carpet came 2 full and 1 partial days. They moved appliances (stove and refrigerator) and the toilet without charge. They removed molding and doors prior to beginning work. The installers worked rapidly and could have been more careful which would have required less touch up after they were done. We are happy with the results.
