Do not hire this painter! Breached the contract in so many ways it's hard to count. Stated he was qualified to do job and gave me a steep price. Told me he was efficient, quick and good. I needed job done quickly as I was living in the house and wanted to finish unpacking. Immediately there were excuses for delays, not showing up, etc. Blamed personal issues. Job created dust and I asked numerous times for him to be attentive to dust. One room he strongly recommended I panel so I spent more money. He was dishonest in several ways, stating I 'said I would pay extra money' for carpentry, 'said I would pay for extra worker', said he would finish job. He then demanded I give him money not yet owed (the last 1/2 was to be paid upon completion) to pay worker and asked him not to 'bail' on me. I had to leave due to a health emergency with my elderly mother. After promising to finish the job while I was at the hospital, he took the money, texted me he quit and left, leaving my house dirty, dusty, in utter disarray. Told me he would give me workers number so he would finish job but ignored my request to get the number. The worker was better than he was. During this process, I was very accomodating and reasonable but soon found I was being taken advantage of. I had to threaten legal action before he gave me number. He never cleaned up after himself amongst other issues. Not only is my home in complete disarray now but I am having health issues that are stress related. Not a litigious person normally but will be taking legal action. Again, do not hire this guy. When he did actually work, I'd rate his work as average to slightly above average (which is the only good thing I can say). He is charming but dishonest and full of crap.
