We agreed to have them out to inspect our AC and perform some routine maintenance. They identified some serious problems with the 10 yo system and proposed to replace it. Based on rotted out wood and metal cabinets, loss of efficiency and abundant mold we agreed that the system needed to be replaced. Our neighbors recently had their AC replaced and the price from AAAE was much lower. AAAE could also do the work immediately. (We knew the system we were buying was not the most efficient - hence B for quality - but we think we hit the right price point).
Next day the install crew arrived on time and set to work. At the end of the day we had a new functioning AC system, but we also discovered that we did not have a heat pump as we had before - only an electric resistive back up heater. We made it clear to AAAE that this was not what we expected and was not acceptable. AAAE asserted heat pumps are not worth the extra cost in central Florida. (Our neighbors all have installed new heat pumps and tell us they do pay for themselves during chilly winters). We pointed out AAAE had said they were replacing our old system with an equivalent and when giving us a price stated it was firm and if there was any additional cost they would absorb it. We asked them to replace the newly installed system with one that included a heat pump and to do so at the originally quoted price. After conferring with management, the installer said he would come back on Monday and do so. (it was then late on Friday afternoon.) I expected to have a lot more argument and was pleasantly surprised that AAAE agreed quickly to make me happy with their work. As agreed, the installers returned on Monday, removed the brand new unit they had just installed and replaced in with the one we expected. The total cost was what we originally agree to.
AC and heat are fully functioning and we are happy AAAE customers.
"thank you for your positive review. we appreciate the input, and are glad you are happy with our service. we look forward do doing more business with you in the future."
"Dear [Removed member name], thank you for your review. it's very nice to have good, loyal customers like you. i'm glad you're happy with our service. also, i'd like to apologize for not answering your message back in May.I'm glad you called in. I'm new at this, and didn't even realize there was a message tab on our business link. Sincerely, Kelly Buehler"
"Dear, on behalf of All American Air & Electric, i'm sorry you feel that we are not a reputable company. We have been family owned and operated since 1996 and have thousands of satisfied and loyal customers. We continuously strive for 100% customer satisfaction. As i'm sure you're aware, no one can please everyone all the time. Unfortunately our paperwork only shows that Ryan, who was relatively new in 2012, but still with the company and a valued employee, gave you a free estimate for a new unit. there is no mention of a bad contactor on our paperwork. i know this was an old review that was updated, and i'm glad your air is working fine today. sincerely, Kelly Buehler"
Flash forward: They installed what turned out to be a low-end 3.5 ton 14 SEER Amana heat pump at a terribly inflated price. A later check showed I could have got a much better Trane, Lennox or Carrier heat pump with a 18 SEER rating for LESS!! My fault; I should have realized what was going on when they called to say that they "just happened to have the unit on a truck that evening!!"
Is it running OK? Yes, but my electric bill is now HIGHER than before, despite All American's assurances that it'd be "much lower."
Final note: My next door neighbor was sucked in on this a few days later. They told him that they could give him the SAME unit as mine for $1000 less, but "not to tell me." As with me, he got a call right after signing the contract that the "Just happened to have the right unit on the truck and would be right over!" His house is 400 square feet larger than mine yet they installed a THREE ton low-end Amana unit. During these hot days it now runs continuously and his electric bills are MUCH higher than before. The outside sticker shows 14 SEER yet his contract says 15 SEER.
While All American may have competent service techs, their sales tactics are misleading and in some cases downright dishonest. (My opinion). I'd caution anyone to STAY AWAY from these people.
