When they came out in February they stong-armed us into paying for an ESA.  An ESA is a way for them to charge a lot more for a service call.  In February they put refrigerant in.  All that refrigerant leaked out because they did not fix the problem.  On October 1, they wanted to put $299.89 worth of refrigerant in, which would have leaked out.  We would have wasted all that money.  It appears they care more about making money at the expense of their elderly customers than fixing the problem.  We wrote them twice and asked them what we got for paying for the ESA.  We gave them our address, phone number and email address.  We never got a response.  We feel like we have been ripped-off.  We will leave it turned off before we will give them a chance to rip us off again.

When I did a remondeled I hired A&R to install a new 16 sear furnace/air conditioner.  That was in 2013 and they have done the maintenence ever since.  We were seeing mold on the register and had them come over to solve the problem.  They had just done maintenence on the unit with the past month.  They could not solve the problem.  I then called Coast to Coast in Dunnellen who came over and found the problems.  The kicker was when they removed the facing of the unit they found it covered in MOLD.  I have hired C2C to clean it.  The so caled maintenance turned out to be bogusl.

Update from 6-4-14 installation... On 8-21-14 came home to fine A/C not cooling properly so we checked the filters and the temp settings all was okay but the temp in the house was climbing. Called Aand R and they sent someone right out great. Well he found the problem being the TXV valve is bad and after a phone conversation with the office it would take 3 to 5 working days to get the part. Due to the temp in Florida right now that I would pay for the expedite charges to get it overnight if possible. Supposedly these guys are a preferred dealer so why don't they have parts for repairs. I also realize you can't stock everything but if this valve is as wide spread problem it would seem that you wold keep some. It took all day Friday and they said they might be able to have one for us by Monday or Tuesday. I guess in the end if it was their system they would find a way to fix it right away.

The company sent out a serviceman within a couple of days of me calling due to a problem with my air conditioner. It was freezing up and not providing cold air at times. He diagnosed that the valve needed replacing but it had to be ordered. I called several days later to make sure the part would be ordered. The guy on the phone said he was ordering it that day. I went out of town for two weeks. I called on Monday to verify I still had an appointment for Tuesday. The girl said I did. On Tuesday, the serviceman called to ask for the serial and model number on my unit. He was going to pick up the part. It turned out he did not get the correct numbers and the part was not ordered. Now, my house is 89 degrees, the air conditioner did not work in hot weather. When he called back later, several hours past my appointment time, he could not obtain the part and said there was nothing he could do without that part. He took no responsibility for not obtaining the serial and model number on my unit two weeks prior. I called a different company who diagnosed a different problem that was resolved when they fixed it.

My old Trane air conditioning unit finally quite working and I had them install a new Trane top of the line unit. The unit never worked properly from the day it was installed, high humidity and erratic operation. A month later the coil had to be replaced and that still didn't fix the problem. Finally I had to bring in another AC contractor to get the unit itself operational and come to find out that the second stage of the AC was never hooked and that my entire ducting system is severely undersized. Now I have to address the ducting since summers coming on and don't want the high humidity in the house again which will be another $2,000. Not only would I never deal with this company again I would strongly suggest staying away from Trane as their service support was pathetic at best.

Service man arrived on time and immediately saw the problem. He blew out the drain with an air compressor and showed us how to prevent it from happening in the future. I live in a gated community of people 55 and over and he said there is an automatic discount for any one living here. His charge was $150.00. I was very satisfied.

There was some miscommunication with the salesman. The salesman told me what they were going to do and what the workers did in a few aspects were different. I was somewhat displeased. They were suppose to replace an area but instead just put a few different parts on top of it. They said they were going to replace copper lines on the outside and did not, used the old product. I called the sales rep and told him and he gave me an additional year warranty on the product and we were happy with that.

Horrible, non-responsive, arrogant, and un-professional. New unit was installed, and worked for just a day. And had to go 7 weeks in the winter without heat. They finally came back out, and blamed my electrician. Talked to Michael, refused to give me his last name. And he said, "Yes, I know". And that was it. Never came back out to repair the problem. Had to get another vendor who came and fixed it in 2 hours.

The gentleman was late for the appointment and I received no phone call as to whether or not he was still coming. I had to call the company to find out whether or not he was still coming. The gentleman was efficient and got what was needed fixed.

He quoted me a price of 120 for the part. However, I was not pleased with the way he tried to sell me something else. He wanted me to buy a $170 dollar plan that would cover two service visits and thus not charge me the 75 dollar service call. If I bought this plan, then he was willing to take the price of the part down to $99 dollars and omit the $75 dollar service call charge. When I told him I was not interested, the price of the part went to $149 and I was still charged the 75 dollars. I did not want the plan, but thought he could do better on the pricing even without the service plan purchase. He was not willing to do this unless I bought the service plan.


Unfortunately, it was during the week in March where it was pretty hot here and I felt as though I was at his mercy and he knew that I needed and wanted it fixed.

This company took over a company we had used for years and have stayed just as efficient even though they are much bigger.They come on time, try to keep costs low, if we don't need a filter ($55) or if a part will last another 6 months that's what they tell us.The men are professional and always clean up after their work. Even now when we will be needing a new Air Conditioner we know three months ahead of time and have a price range we can choose from, very nice. I wouldn't look anywhere else for our heat and cooling for our house.
