A Family Veterinarian

Veterinarians,

About us

Our practice is dedicated to improvement of animal welfare in all species, and One Health. All species will be covered in this page, including wildlife, as the health of one species affects the others. Because we are located in Ocala, many of our clients own horses, and for that reason horse health news will also be covered in this page.

I was very happy with Dr. Ed. He was very nice, explained all the bloodwork and they took a picture of the cat in case it ever got lost. The technicians were very nice and knowledgeable. I would have paid twice as much up North for the services I received here. I felt very comfortable and will continue taking both my cats there.

The staff and doctor were very caring and did an excellent job in surgery. The staff took the cat into surgery quickly even though this was a walk-in emergency without an appointment.

We are new to the Ocala area and needed to find a vet who could take care of our pet cockatiels. We were blessed to find Dr. Ed. He clipped their nails and charged a very, very small fee for this service. He is gentle and kind even though birds can be "not so thrilled" to have their nails clipped. I'd like to share our personal experience about A Family Pet. Prior to our second visit, our very old cockatiel passed away very suddenly. When we arrived at the vet and explained why we didn't have our other bird with us, Dr. Ed offered his expert advice as to how our surviving bird might react to the loss. He offered suggestions as to how we might handle a problem. A few days later, we received a beautiful condolence card signed by Dr. Ed and all his staff with their thoughts. We really appreciated the kind and caring gesture.

When we picked up our dog,she was personally brought out to us by Dr Ed.He is way more than a vet,who is in for the money. He takes time out to talk to you and discuss any concerns. He actually saved our dog's life when she had been mauled years ago.I would not trust her with any other vet in town.
The staff is always smiling and so professional. The office is clean and has up to date technology.
Think of Dr Ed as the old time doctor who takes time out to talk. Not just get you and in and out, like a corporate operation.
He and the staff truly make you feel welcome and do an outstanding job.In fact, when we moved this past year ,we made sure stayed within the area, because no way would I ever change vets.

Since we've moved here, this is like the fourth time we've seen them. We think the doctor is great and the location is very close to home and he's very reasonable on pricing. He's wonderful with animals. He's an excellent vet, ready and prepared, really tends to animals and very accurate on diagnosis.

After years of bringing our pets to large vet offices we decided it was time to find a vet that was in practice and not just in business. Dr. Ed has been an ER vet for years at the animal hospital in Gainesville and immediately gained our trust. We own two bichon frees males one of which has had two separate surgeries for bladder stones. After Claude last surgery we saw dr Ed for the first time. He took the time with us to hear our concerns and came up with a game plan of checking his urine for stone forming crystals quarterly and putting him on a special diet. It is over a year and his urine is clean as a whistle. We also love that his office is open on Saturdays and Sunday's! We love our Dr. Ed!
