+ -1 moreI would highly recommend Gerald Lindell for all grandfather clock repairs. He was very knowledgeable, was able to explain exactly what I need to do for the upkeep, and fixed everything very fast. Mr. Lindell gave me more than just a repaired clock though, he restored so many memories of my grandparents and childhood which all were surrounded by the grandfather clock. And for that I am forever grateful for Mr. Lindell's services !
Description of Work: Mr.Lindell went above and beyond for my repair. He came to my grandmothers house to take the clock apart then drove about 35 mins to my house to repair it and put it back together .

They are a bit on the expensive side but well worth it. You get what you pay for. Also took another wall clock with him to fix that I could not replace and fixed it. Running perfectly.

Description of Work: Beautiful old chiming clock that hangs on the wall -- hand had fallen off -- they replaced the hand but also said the clock needed cleaning and charged $150. Took about 6 weeks (which is what they told me upon delivery of the clock to them). Should have checked the time when I picked it up but didn't, as they said it was running fine. Got it home, hung it up and, in fact, it was not running. I would have taken it back but it was my mother's clock and she died shortly thereafter so I did not return it for proper repair and instead donated it to charity. I was very surprised that they did not fix it correctly, as they seemed very professional and reputable. Maybe I just had a bad experience that is not indicative of their usual quality.

Description of Work: We contacted Lindell's to move and service our clock. They arrived as scheduled and took care of disassembling, moving, and setting up the clock. The service was about 20 minutes and $200. The clock quit working in the first hour after he left. It took over 3 weeks and several phone calls to get them back out. He found he had bent the hands of the clock when servicing it. A 5 minute visit seems to have fixed things. Too bad it took so long to respond.

+ -1 moreOverall this went well. Calling to schedule service went well and the office called back the next day to schedule a date for the technician. I mentioned that I lived on an Air Force Base and asked if the technician was able to access the base. This was the one hiccup. The person in the office indicated he had been on the base several times, so he should be OK. However, my wife got the call that she needed to go to the front gate to sign him onto the base. Once she got him to the house he was able to service the clock. He questioned the age of the clock and indicated the company did not make clocks in the 50s. He was incorrect on that point which I later confirmed on the internet. It really didn't set well that he questioned what we were telling him and refuted it with incorrect information. With that said, the clock works and that is the important part.
Description of Work: I had an older (1950s) Grandmother Clock that was not working. Lindell's came check it out and service the clock.
