Contractor physically started project to install pool by staking out the pool area in December 2023 and immediately asked for another progress payment. Downpayment was provided in June 2022 to start the pool design process, but design was diverted to include a pool house. First progress payment paid May 2023 to start the final design and permitting. The contractor made it clear that they do not do any work without getting paid first. We have currently paid 92% of the pool contract and change orders and the pool construction progress is maybe 75% complete. Currently we have no basecrete coating, final coating or tile inside the pool, the swim jet system was delivered and only partially install, piping/conduit trenches are not backfilled and compacted, and no pool equipment has been installed (can provide current photos of pool construction progress). The contractor s construction progress and communication seems to come in bursts, with many long periods of time where there is no progress or communication. Although there has been recent progress on electrical additional scope change order, there has not been any progress on the pool construction since July 2024. I have requested an update on construction status without getting responses from the pool contractor. Now the pool contractor is holding up installation of the pool deck paver installation (separate contract).

Hired this contractor to build an addition to my kitchen. Its been over a year and everthing is holding strong and works as it should. Would hire again.
