Ed Zegarra, the owner, came out and measured my place for a quote in May 2020. I accepted a quote for $10,682 (not including permit fees) for 2 steel doors, a sliding door, and 3 windows on 5/19 and paid 50% down. He told me that the project would be done in 4-6 weeks, maximum. By mid-June, I was able to get him to answer the phone and he said that he was still waiting on permits because of delays related to Covid. For 5 months, I called him weekly for updates. He doesn't respond to messages, so I just had to keep trying until I got an answer. He continued to tell me various versions of the same thing, that they had filed for permits but were waiting on the city. By mid-October, I was very suspicious that the city had taken 5 months to reply to a permit submission, so I contacted them myself. The city told me that no permit had been filed for my unit. I then called him back and then the next day sent me an email with a copy of the permit paperwork, with a submission date of that day-Oct 9, 2020. His subcontractors came and installed everything in late October/November. There were several issues with the install. The front doors leak, the sliding doors do not fit properly so there is a constant draft between the panels during breezy days, and the sliding door track was not installed level, so the door doesn't close correctly. After months of phone calls, he sent the subcontractors back to work on the front doors, and they reinstalled the thresholds. The problem is now worse. The subcontractor also told me that the sliding door problems were due to the manufacturer sending the wrong size. I called the owner back to discuss it, and he said he did not believe that and would "have to come look at it himself." But now, I can't get him to come look at the unit and fix the issue. Their prices are competitive, but I would definitely not recommend this company. I will have to spend even more money getting this issue fixed.
