John Murphy Renovation Consultants

If I listed details of the experience no one would have time to read it, so here is a brief summary. They started working Feb 14th, the same day we left Florida. We felt pretty comfortable leaving knowing we would have "someone in charge of the job, sending us photos daily, and providing us with all receipts". HA! Couple weeks into the project we start asking for those original receipts and a review of the budget since there was much work to do and most of the budget had been used. Contractor disappeared for three days and we actually had to have someone else call him to even find out he was okay. Long story short we felt we were being lied to so 3 weeks into the job we headed back to Florida. When we got there we saw our floor tile with grout lines 1/4" to 3/4" wide, tile corners high enough to stump your toe on, and the color of the tile was not evenly distributed. They forgot to install tile in the utility room. The kitchen island wall was too short and in the wrong place meaning the lights we had paid to have center over the island would have to be moved (new electrical, drywall, and paint) plus move and extend the wall. Bathroom lights were in the wrong place and etc.... Really I don't think we found anything right plus many things Mr. Murphy said was done was not. The materials had not evened been purchased although we had paid for them. Mr. Murphy had our receipts and was so mad we had come back down threatened to keep them, but decided if we gave him his tools he would give us our receipts. Turns out after reviewing all receipts we bought part of the tools he took. Sorry no more room for details. Most important thing is we would never ever hire this company again.
