Honchar Remodeling

I had hurricane damage and mold in my home after the two hurricanes last year in 2024. The owner, Casey Honchar of Honchar Construction LLC, came to give me an estimate for an all inclusive price to help remediate and remove all of the mold from my home. They told me before they started work that they needed 4647.62 to start, I paid $5000 via zelle. After signing the contract and sending the zelle, they started price gouging with deceptive practices of adding more costs, and refusing to adhere to the work order and statements from the owner. When I asked them to remove the molded insulation, as per the contract for remediation purposes, they did not create a barrier to prevent the spread of mold throughout my home. They recontaminated the home and had to repurchase the chemicals top retreat the entire 2700 sq ft home. The owner told me that they were not going to remove the affected insulation and were going to drywall back over it.

Honchar never returned to fix items that needed further attention, even though I requested him to do so several times. I live alone. I have had to reach out to other contractors to complete the work. I paid him immediately upon request. He never honored his word to return and repair several areas that required touch up and I had to pay a cleaning company $800.00 for the mess he left behind. I was very very disappointed in the outcome. It appears that if he works for you, he requires constant attention and coaching to do average work,

Drywall had sections completely missed and uneven. Mud work sanding left numerous humps dips and large chunks on windows and doors. Very sloppy work. Did not cleanup after themselves. Overall the 5 day job took a month and I had to pay another company to finish.

Casey did a fantastic job. And would definitely hire HR drywall & paint again.

I am very happy with the interior painting of my apartment. Casey was friendly, professional and cleaned up after the job was done. The work was done as I instructed.
