We had two large plantation shutters installed, and right from the
beginning the outer frames would not close properly. The owner offered to
reinstall them ?if we wanted him to?, but with the warning that we would have
the same problem within six months to a year. We declined because:
1. If the installation is not right, it should be put right without asking;
2. If the problem is going to reappear, there is no point in reinstalling;
3. In our experience, if a job is not done right the first time, it will not be done right the second time.
The open-and-close function of the slats works, however, so we have
decided to live with the shutters as they are. The frames will not be opened
very often, and they can be forced back into place when necessary.
