Property Appraisal
I had thought that the process had gone smoothly until I received the appraisal. Mr. Bassriel's appraisal was and is about $70,000 to short of the actual property's value. I have since spoken to other people who have told me the same. As a result of his appraisal, I was denied the home equity loan I was seeking and must now pay another appraisal that is more familiar with the Gainesville market and to disprove his figures. This of course is expensive and time consuming. I bear Mr. Bassriel no ill will. I am sure that he thought he was doing a good job; I do think that he would be better served by sticking to the Newberry, FL market.
