Sunset Marine

Matthew totaled dock. Had to be torn down. Found the major reason it failed was that the pilings were not put into the ground according to code. Some only 18 inches and not the full 10 feet. When demoing the roof, four of the eight major pilings, that were holding up the roof, just fell over into the water. Bob's response was there was too much rip rap to put them any deeper. Be wary. The pictures still make me sick. Neighbors told me later, they watched them barely put them in the ground and chain saw off the tops.

We had Sunset Marine come by to see what they would suggest about addressing our erosion problem we were having from the canal behind our home.  We found that he was very informative and gave us some options we could take, either by installing a Retaining wall or Seawall.  Afterwards, we told him that we would be were very interested with having them do the work with his suggestion on the seawall; however, he told us that he would have to get back with us within the following week so we can go over a few details and estimate. [Jan. 2013].  
That was the last we heard from them.  We tried calling several times and left messages over the next several weeks to please return our call so we can proceed with te plan to no avail.  Out of curiousity, I even tried to call about a year later, Feb. 19, 2014, and still no return call.
I can understand that things can come up, or that they may have elected not to proceed with this project, but a courtesy call would have sufficed so we can proceed with our plans.  As it was, we spent several weeks putting our plans on hold.
