"Mrs [Member Name Removed], we have had three straight weeks of rain in which we have tried to get to all the issues. The service manager called you directly and apologized for him missing your appointment and had someone out there to take care of you on a weekend and also said he would take care of any issues. As for your roof, and the bad grade, your roof has withstood two hurricanes With no damage and this is the first issue you have had, It's not the easiest job in the world running around on the top of roofs in the rain but we are trying our best. Please don't worry, even with this great review that you have given, I will make sure the repair team makes it right"
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for taking time to go onto Angie'[Member Information Removed] List and grade our performance. As anyone knows, it'[Member Information Removed] easier to say something bad than it is to go out of your way to say something positive. You time is most appreciated and if you need anything, we are here. Thanks again"
"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], I just wanted to say thank you for taking time out of your day to write a good review. I know how crazy life can get when it can be difficult to find time to write a review, especially when things go well. We as a company really appreciate you going out of your way to write a good review. Thanks again and have a great day"
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I do apologize for your experience with my company. I looked into the issue that you spoke about with your installation. As you are aware of, we had a hurricane that hit our area and we were more then overwhelmed. The estimator that came out to your house did his best to get your roof done in less than 30 days. At the time we were at a minimum of (4) months to get a roof done. We were actually scheduling inspections six to seven weeks out. There is no other company in the area that could of removed and replace your roof in less time. We had to go through your home owners association to get the approval and then hope that the supply house had material to do your roof in the color that they approved. To say the least, things were very hectic and we still were able to get your roof done in less than 45 days from the time you signed. I just don't understand that in a time of a natural disaster that you waited almost 8 months to say anything. Again my apologies"
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], You signed a detailed contract for $11,000. The contract stated that we would remove and replace the entire roof system along with removing the two dormers. Nothing on the contract states anything about siding. We have processed this with the State [Member Information Removed] Florida and the BBB and found that we did nothing wrong. You signed a contract for $11,000. We fought your insurance company for you and they gave you over $18,000 for the damages done to your home. This is $8,000 more than their initial offering to you. Your roof is completed and we have had the county building department come out and do the inspections and have passed all [Member Information Removed] them. If we were hired to do all [Member Information Removed] the work from your insurance company, you would [Member Information Removed] had to pay the entire $18,000 to us. It's amazing when we do exactly what we were asked [Member Information Removed] and help someone get the financial reimbursement from their insurance company and this is what we get. Wish there was a grade for clients."
1. added an angled area on one portion of the cottage but not the entire roof- standing water in other areas when it rains.
2. wrong color, wanted tan, got white.
3. while a worker was standing by the edge of the roof, a portion of the stucco soffit (approx 1 1/2 feet in diameter)
collapsed, leaving a big hole for bugs and rodents- not sure whose fault that would be)
4. used some hacked off 2x4s to add "support" for the roof- 2 ft sections nailed up against the existing 2x8s holding up the roof.
5. roofing nails protruding down through the roof over the porch area... visible, ugly and dangerous.
6. Took them 2 months after signing the contract to get this much done.
7. It rained the day after they finished and had a large leak in the bedroom, ruining the ceiling and making the wood floor soggy. They came right back and put a patch on it. Rained that night and it still leaked. I had to call for over a week before I had a promise for some help. They sent someone out who put a huge blue tarp on it, which DID stop the leak. Called about every 3 days with a request for a roof- which was paid for in full when they first finished. Took over a month.
Good part of this story....they finally came back and put the correct color of roofing on, with no leaks. They did a wonderful job on the support for the porch area, They replaced the ceiling in the bedroom BUT did nothing about the floor. I asked about the soffit and the workers said they knew nothing abut it- I was out there when it happened and pointed it out to them. Tar or the black adhesive they used on the roofing is very obvious on the seams- they said they ordered sand/gravel to match the roof but I've heard nothing from them. Been over a month. I signed the contract Jan 3rd, paid in full March 4th, 2014 and they "finished" or haven't returned since May.
UPDATE: Suncoast read the review on Angie's list and came out one day out the blue and put the colored granules on the roof and said they were going to fix the soffit. They worked on that for about 10 minutes and said they didn't have the right stuff. They said they'd be back the next morning but I haven't seen/heard from them since. Also, in trying to repair the soffit, they actually made another hole in it...no, definitely NOT recommend them to anyone.
UPDATE ON THE UPDATE: Still have holes in my soffit- they have never returned to fix the damage they inflicted. Nor called. Never EVER use them.
