Countertop and Backsplash Service, Cabinet Making
Original contract for cabinets and countertops was for $12,935.07. $8,408.05 was paid in advance deposit with $2,263.71 due at cabinet delivery and $2,263.71 due at completion. In Dec. of 2006 they notified us that our funds had been used for other purposes. They said they didn't have money to pay the cabinet manufacturing company or the countertop company and would not be executing the contract. In order to save the $8,408.05 we had paid so far, we agreed to deal with and pay the cabinet and countertop companies directly. $3,400 was paid to Craftmaid, and $2,000 was paid to Surface Crafters. This resulted in a contract overpayment of $872.58. The owner Hugh Long, promised to reimburse those funds when he was in a better financial position. It has been 10 months and he has not done so, despite repeated phone calls.
